I'm going to miss having more dungeons. Dungeons are my favorite content in the game. This sucks.

Feel like we have to have had a hard dungeon to begin with in order to say we are getting no more.
On the one hand, this could mean the development of other interesting content. On the other hand, this might mean Expert roulette might just be two dungeons moving forward.
I hope there is no separate level 80 dungeon roulette this expansion and they keep all level 80 dungeons as part of Expert roulette.
Hard dungeon is the actual term in FFXIV for dungeons that take place in the same location as a previous dungeon.
Of course we're getting less. Again. It's the pattern established by HW, SB, and now SB2.
We've been getting a steady decrease in the rate of dungeons per patch with every expansion, before the trust system even existed. I assure you that this would have continued to be true even without the trust system.I'd wager trusts are to blame. Coding the NPC's to be able to react to mechanics probably takes up a chunk of development time, to say nothing of what is already spent on environment design, music and enemy models.
It's still likely to be a contributing factor. Potentially the final straw that caused them to cut the number of dungeons down further. Just speculation, of course.
Well, in Stormblood, they added Ultimate, Eureka/Baldesion Arsenal, Thief Map, Blue Mage Masked Carnival, two trials (one collaboration and one from Hildibrand), and PVP content update. Whether or not these end up being interesting for people is subjective, but they're indeed something new.
In Shadowbringers, we'll have to see what they try to come up with other than Trust system. There is that second trial for 5.2, and potentially a third Ultimate. That said, outside of combat content, we do already have new content in other areas, though I don't know how that would affect dungeon development.
