Pole Dance Emote and Furnishing: When Do We Get It?

Imagine going through housing and you end up in a house that has been remade into a stripper club. Dancing poles on bar counters, round tables or on a central stage, curtained 'red rooms' for 'private shows' and for 'photographic scenes'.

RP servers will have a field trip with this debauchery.

That wouldn't bother me. I've RP'd in other games. I don't RP here but also don't care if people do. If I walk into a house and someone tried to convert it into an S&M dungeon, more power to them lol

Yes, yes this. It's private. They could lock their doors, or have them open. Someone chose to stick around and watch instead of leaving. And if they don't like it, they need to get over it.

I don't like how many houses are barren or have gaudy, ugly furnishing set ups. But hey, that's my opinion and I'm free to not just walk into other players' homes any time.

Regardless of what people on here say about pole dancing or of it's real-life use, it's used as a sexually suggestive dance within the context of the game. And it doesn't appear like it's going to deviate from that use. It doesn't even need to, given how minuscule it is. If people want to dance, just do it at the beehive.

2. The intent would be entirely dependent on the player's agency; you can't blindly assume that everyone using it has salacious intentions. I'm sure more people bikini tank for the irony than sexual gratification; why would this be any different? I mean I cosplay as everyone's favorite lingerie android while tanking just because 2B's outfit is cute as opposed to becoming yet another tin can with footballer pauldrons.

They're meant to be a little suggestive I think, but not too much. They obviously wouldn't want to push it too far which could push their rating from T to M. It falls under the "suggestive themes" in the game's rating which isn't a huge deal. There's a lot of suggestive themes in this game if people pay close attention. You are probably right, but the Manderville dance is too epic to actually be rated. No mere mortal can perform this dance with grace and poise.

Late to the conversation but if people really want it, why not? It's a dance and while it does have a sexual nature about it, there's more to it than that. Pole dancing is for entertainment and is considered art. Yes some may see it as sexual but who cares? Final fantasy games are notorious for hiding erotic and sexual themes in games. It's not uncommon and people need to stop acting like one dance is going to make it more noticeable. If it wasn't noticable already..

As for the emote itself- maybe it could be a reward of some sort or on mogstation, so no one feels like they have to get it if they dont want it. Hell, even something where you click on the pole itself and you do a small swing on it or something. I think it would be fun.

Personally I want the dance they're using the back.

In my opinion, there are much more important matters to attend to, for example, my Sheltron still does nothing against Critical Attacks...I'd personally appreciate if devs would address things like that before deciding if they want to make WoLs strippers or not.

Force, you do know that the people who make /emotes are a different department than the people who focus on mechanics, right?

I know this might come off as offensive to modders, and I mean no disrespect, but sometimes I think they're becoming a detriment to this community. It's not necessarily about what they do, but players who see their work seem to develop unrealistic expectations of the developers. They think the dev team can create the same thing with ease. Yet, the mods are always client-side and don't factor in combining with other gear pieces in the game. Then there's also about how they interact with the world, with things like physics or wind. I've noticed mods always change the entire outfit on the character and are never matched with other items in the game. I think they're a bad way to expect anything from the dev team.

I agree. Let me backup on that statement.

It is in no way a judgement on the modders. They simply wish to improve the game in someway. But, their work does undermine the relationship the customer base has with Square Enix.

People naturally see a modder do something with relative easy and assume the reason a particular issue is still in the game is due to apathy or incompetence of the devs. When nothing could be further from the truth.
