Yeah, between work and other irl engagements, I've only had a few hours this week to play since Ishgard dropped. Now it seems unlikely I'll have a chance to see a fate in this stage at all. I also hope they have plans to do some other kind of fates or something after a world completes it's progress for this stage. Otherwise I'd have to wonder what will happen to this content later down the road after the final stage inevitably becomes completed.

On one hand we are only at the very start of the restoration that'll presumably last til 5.4 or .5.

On the other hand, the heavy feedback is good since it made them make a change quickly. It wasn't right that people were locked out of their own events due to crossworlders

The feeling of being part of the rebuilding process I get! (As some kind of reward, I mean - I just didnt expect that to be a huge factor for a lot of people, but I'm cynical, I guess)
Each step is once per server. If you miss it, you never get to experience it. Ever.

Thats a pretty strong pull to people.

I dunno, I can make that many scrips with 10 pots of soup. And then I can keep making more. That only takes a couple minutes and it can be done forever. I think people just see the big number and don't think about like scrips per hour or whatever.

A sense of pride and accomplishment?

The devs forgot the game they are developing is online, again.

From what I understood, even people without any crafts could partecipate in the FATE. So that would be the only way they get scrips if they really can't be bothered to craft. Also, at lower levels scrips are much slower to make. I used the occasion today to level my lowest crafts, which were late 40s, and in half a day or more I only made a few hundred scrips.
If they have already maxed crafters though..I guess being able to get rewards from just afking.

Don't forget that this was largely aimed at casual and non-crafters. If you're level 20 you're getting a measly 5 scrips per turn-in. 500 is a ton to them.

Even spending my first day leveling my 70's it took me half a day of gathering and crafting to earn a bit more than 500.

Yeah, I read these post and think "... What?"

Like, what are they talking about?
Participation? If you turn in stuff you are participating. That's how the fate POPs, it requires the time and effort of tons of people turning in collectibles. If you turn in items then yeah, you helped the cause ... you're a part of this. regardless of if you're there for when the fate pops.

So outside of that the only thing I can think of is the rewards, which are mostly for people who are leveling or want to get those big ticket items faster but don't have a high crafter. Like, I'm looking at the scripts I COULD get if I used my lvl80 WVR and I'm sure I could make 100s of scripts easy. But I'm doing this to level my others which pay out next to nothing compared to the max level crafts so thats really the only thing I can see.

Think maybe the devs should give people a cut scene for when they enter the first time after a major development from the fate. Maybe that would help drive home that everyone who turned stuff in was a part of this?

Are the ones available at 70 really that low in rewards? I did the level 80 one for like 5 hours and got at least 4,500 scrips.

I somewhat struggled to reach max collectability considering my 70's weren't exactly top geared, and you're lacking amazing abilities like Delicate until level 76. I just did a one button macro I cooked up on the fly and was only reaching 1800 most of the time. I can't recall how many scrips that is, and my sub has ended so can't check.

They also require more painful normal items. Like Pine Lumber, which itself is much easier than stuff like Beetle Glue (I didn't bother with Beetle Glue, just leveled my ARM through the FATE instead). Compare to the 80 ALC only requiring Golden Honey which is super easy.

I also saw a lot less +yield for the lower items than the 80 ones. I don't think I once saw a +9 on the 70's.
