    Can't speak for Ultimate (yet) but in Alex Savage you follow Alex's minions back in time to stop them from assassinating you pre-fight.

    True, however he only does that during the fight, which gives you a chance to stop it. In my version he does it before the fight begins, thus you have no way to prevent instantly losing. If Alex, or many bosses really, used their full power, no player could ever beat them.
