The call went out that they were lagging behind (people FROM the server asked wanderers to come help), and folks answered.

There was still definitely an influx of Wanderers when the Fate rolled around, but the progress didn't take a major hit until this change was rolled out. I still think that there was a better way to handle it, since the players from there that I've personally spoken to seem pretty bummed, but that's my experience, and we can agree to disagree.
FYI, you can quote multiple people in one post. I figured out each person your posts were meant to respond to, but as it stands all your posts looks rather disjointed without the appropriate quotes. That said-

I have no way to confirm if what you're saying is true with regards to yourself personally obviously, but given the posts in this thread, and the complaints on my own server (and SE's hard data)... well, they tell a rather different story. Again, if you were helping, fine. I don't have an issue with people like you, but the vast majority were NOT, and were simply profiting off of the work of others. This is unacceptable, and clearly, SE agrees.

EDIT: I was thinking about the NPC submission thing standing outside each firmament yesterday, actually, and that would be a lovely idea. If I could send care packages or something to servers that want/need it, that'd be great.

EDIT 2: The NPC thing would have to be for good will only, no scrip reward. That would be REALLY telling, as I doubt many would use it, but for those of us that want to help, we could.

I don't think it'll be too much of a problem for the big servers outside of the evenings and weekends with people's schedules, honestly.

I agree that a point boost for small pops is a great idea, and I feel dumb for not thinking of it myself. The Fates will be okay though. They have a 30 minute timer, and they only involve like 3 or so steps I think? They should be able to finish those. It's the progress outside of the fates that had people I talked to worried. If they find a work around (like increasing the points/bonus reward incentives or a turn in NPC outside the Firmament) I think that would tie things up about as neatly as can be hoped for by now.

The only thing I'd personally miss then is the social aspect, but that's what cross-world linkshells are for.

Thank you! I actually had forgotten I could do that (it's been a while since I posted here). Sorry for the confusion.

Can't take credit for that idea at all but I liked it as soon as I saw it. It would let people still help their friends servers without bogging down the instanced zone, for sure.

I realize I can't really prove it, and I appreciate that folks are willing to give me the benefit of the doubt on that front, but my main take away is just that there are and were people trying to help. Even now people on the Discord were suggesting pooling supplies for Siren, and macros and resources are being passed around/shared. So it's not all toxic and selfish, and I just wish more people focused on that part. But I get that it's frustrating, especially in the moment. Personally I came home from work and called myself getting in half an hour early yesterday on my home server when I experienced my lock out. I saw people being rude in shout chat and I agree that it was the vocal majority.

Overall, while I do see some of the things being talked about in forums (*insert expletive here* being mocking to locked out players/natives expressing their frustrations, problems with loading the fate due to congestion, etc.), my experience on the two servers I've split my time between, and the discord has just been overall a little different. Most of what I've seen has been people trying to be helpful. I'd like to see it continue, is all. Once the momentum was there people were having a good time.

Which prevents players native to that server from entering and keeps the cycle going, so it's a terrible idea. Seriously, enough with that. This was the best change, bar none.

Pretty sure instances would have been a better change. This still leaves the ability to be locked out in high population servers.

So they can just continue to server hop, profiting off of the works of others? Come on, that isn't even remotely sensible and I'm sure you're aware of that. Once again, for the higher pop servers experiencing congestion, SW can implement instances, while keeping restrictions in place. Sorry, but you (and everyone else who thinks this way, assuming you weren't one of the very few that actually helped) aren't entitled reaping the rewards for others' work.

What helped prevent the instance from being congested 24/7 was the fact that Ixion's spawn timer was random.

A better approach was to figure out ways to let more participate rather than blocking. But let's wait and see how things will go for now.
I did, thanks. And as for this train that you keep driving, it's already been addressed by myself and others, multiple times. Yes, you enjoyed abusing the system, but too bad. It's locked now.

Nowhere did I mention server hopping. I simply stated instances would have been a better solution. That's all. It would have fixed congestion for all servers. This doesn't. Therefore, that would be a better solution. It's not hard to understand.

If you want, they could have implemented both. But if we had to pick one, instances would have been the better one.

As I said, let's wait and see. If you get locked out of your own world for not being there earlier than the others, there won't be wanderers for you to blame lol.

Yes but in your scenario the same Ixion event trigger would have spawned at three separate times (one spawn per instance) due to instancing, allowing for three separate chances at rewards. It's not quite the same scenario here. Not saying you're necessarily wrong on it, but they'd have to somehow tie a single FATE event's progress to every single instance simultaneously. Frankly I don't even know if they can possibly do that at the moment.

Its a two sided coin. One problem got fixed but it led to another.
My server is currently Preferred and I (along with many others) welcomed this change with open arms. The first stage went faster because it required less resources, while later stages require much more, thus taking longer to complete. If it takes us a few days (oh no!), who cares? This content was not meant to be rushed, and everything can already be purchased, provided you have the necessary scrips.

Yeah, well, I still have some hope, in this little black heart of mine, that people can be decent if they're willing to try. :P

    Exactly.

And as I've already stated in multiple, previous posts, that they can implment instances for the servers that require them. Why they didn't from the get-go, I can't say, but there it is.

What I don't get is why it is apparently so difficult for you and others to understand is what a broken system it was originally, keeping server natives out of their own firmament. Many servers were constantly invaded by the ones that started this nonsense originally, and then by the ones that were wronged. "Well, they did it first, so I'll do it to someone else"! This sort of mentality resulted in a never-ending cascade of nonsense, and this change was a step in the right direction.

My issue was always with the server hoppers profiting off of our work. As I said previously, if a lock out DOES occur (doubtful, since my server is Preffered), it will atleast be due to server natives, NOT wanderers. Huge difference.
