Anyways, I’m betting the rewards are going to be beneficial to hardcore and competitive crafters. Square knows better than anyone that these types of players will not do hard content if there is no actual good rewards for showing off. Let’s call it like it is.

I should also point out, that “cool looking” glam tends to start out as actual gear, then later gets implemented as glamour if the devs see it fit. So no, it’ll likely be high stat gear you can only get by being say, Top 3 on the Ishgard leaderboards. What’s wrong with motivating people to do better?
No worse than you assuming that all the gear needs to be lewd for anyone to be motivated to buy it. That does affect me if it is like that because I won't be able to enjoy the glams myself. I have nothing against scantily clad characters (I used to run around in a speedo when I was a Highlander), personally, but acting like it's the only thing people want is ridiculous. You don't speak for everyone.

And theres plenty of cool gear that doesn't start out as rewards. Theres a slew of items like sweaters, coats, dresses, armor, asian outfits and the like that you can craft or even buy off the Mogstation that look awesome and have zero stat bonuses. Heck, the new gear you get from the current restoration is pretty cool (tank top and coveralls) and isn't reskinned stat gear.

And they shouldn't limit glams to the top 3-- that would just piss off a lot of people because unless they do it right, bots and the like will skew the results. Leaderboards very rarely tend to be legitimate in games like this. Making the crafting of the gear difficult is fine but limiting it to just a few isn't. People get glams for clearing Ultimate and Savage eventually through their hard work and anyone is allowed to try for it, it should be the same for crafters. Require a lot of work and skill, but not lock people completely out of it because they didn't hit some arbitrary leaderboard number.
