I don't want lewd glam. I want cool looking gear, not stuff with my butt hanging out.

If it’s cool gear, I would expect it to be high stat gear that is beneficial to crafting stats.

There are plenty of glams out there without stats that can be cool looking- like the rebel coat. Not all of us are perverts who play female characters and dress them up like street walkers.

Pretty rude of you to suggest anyone who wants a more physically appealing character is a “pervert” and then go on to call them “street walkers”. If it upsets you so much, you are playing the wrong game. Especially after those 2B Butts were released. Plenty of people dress their characters how they want, it in no way affects you as a person. Silly to suggest otherwise.

Anyways, I’m betting the rewards are going to be beneficial to hardcore and competitive crafters. Square knows better than anyone that these types of players will not do hard content if there is no actual good rewards for showing off. Let’s call it like it is.

I should also point out, that “cool looking” glam tends to start out as actual gear, then later gets implemented as glamour if the devs see it fit. So no, it’ll likely be high stat gear you can only get by being say, Top 3 on the Ishgard leaderboards. What’s wrong with motivating people to do better?

No worse than you assuming that all the gear needs to be lewd for anyone to be motivated to buy it. That does affect me if it is like that because I won't be able to enjoy the glams myself. I have nothing against scantily clad characters (I used to run around in a speedo when I was a Highlander), personally, but acting like it's the only thing people want is ridiculous. You don't speak for everyone.

And theres plenty of cool gear that doesn't start out as rewards. Theres a slew of items like sweaters, coats, dresses, armor, asian outfits and the like that you can craft or even buy off the Mogstation that look awesome and have zero stat bonuses. Heck, the new gear you get from the current restoration is pretty cool (tank top and coveralls) and isn't reskinned stat gear.

And they shouldn't limit glams to the top 3-- that would just piss off a lot of people because unless they do it right, bots and the like will skew the results. Leaderboards very rarely tend to be legitimate in games like this. Making the crafting of the gear difficult is fine but limiting it to just a few isn't. People get glams for clearing Ultimate and Savage eventually through their hard work and anyone is allowed to try for it, it should be the same for crafters. Require a lot of work and skill, but not lock people completely out of it because they didn't hit some arbitrary leaderboard number.

What I said isn’t even directly comparable to you outright insulting a massive group of people who (usually) prefer to play as attractive males or females in this game. It’s rude, no way around it, and it was uncalled for just because you harbor disdain for people who like playing as attractive characters. Some of my retainers are Highlander males because I prefer looking at more attractive characters in a game I’m playing. It’s quite normal. Also, I’m referring to hardcore or competitive players. These types of players are pretty easy to understand. They want something they can financially gain from Ishgard, or, something that is extremely desirable. I chat with a few old hardcore crafters from the old days, and pretty much all of them agree with what I’m saying on the matter.

The difficult content at hand isn’t really meant for the casual player. Otherwise it wouldn’t be difficult, according to Yoshida. Let me quote Yoshida here:

There will be a ranking system for the Ishgard restoration. He used the feast as an example and said there will be seasons for it. To avoid the same top tier players from dominating it every season, they designed it so you can graduate and be done with it after you are rewarded for being top** a single time.

It’s going to be similar to Feast according to him. And to get rewards on Feast, you needed to be...say it with me, everyone....a top high ranking player. It doesn’t matter if people get pissed off, the content wasn’t meant for the casual player to begin with. And they’ll undoubtedly make it so bots cant get the top ranking.

Also, when it comes to glamour and gear....as ive said, it makes no difference if you are “pissed off”, because no matter if the rewards are high stat gear or glamour, don’t expect to have any access to it unless you actually work hard on the leaderboards and compete hard, and understand the recipes mechanics.

I mean, these items could also be purchaseable on the mb, but since it’s going to be like Feasts, I highly doubt it will. And even if it is purchaseable on mb, hardcore and competitive crafters would still charge you like 20 - 40 million on these items. Even when the demand goes down, expect it to be 4 million minimum.

"I don't want to play the game for the sake of playing the game. I want to play the game for the sake of showing everyone else playing the game how much better I am at it than they are."

Hopefully it IS something that gets made useless within a couple iterations of the leaderboard, because otherwise we'll just have toxic 'hardcores' and their seventy billion specialist alts infesting the leaderboards so that they take more spots away from normal players that don't craft twelve hours a day.

Yoshida is actually paying attention to hardcore players this time with the 5.2 Ishgard content and above, so I highly doubt it’s going to be something worthless. Even if it’s just a mount that only 10 people on your Data center or server can get, it’s still a nice bragging right. No different from savage or ultimate item bragging rights. For crafters, it’s long overdue, and I’m glad they are finally doing it. This content wasn’t meant for the normal or average player. It’s meant for hardcore or highly competitive crafters. Sorry, but there’s got to be a barrier somewhere.

And you know what? Even if it is just mounts, glamour, and titles, it’s still a nice bragging right just like how hardcore raiders have their own bragging rights. It just makes me upset that like 60% of other hardcore players probably won’t care much for it if that’s the case.

No point getting salty about it, it’s going to happen, whether you like it or not, lol. You get worked up over these discussions too much. Calm down.

    @Cookies:

You do know what lewd means right? Lewd isn't synonymous with attractive. Lewd means revealing outfits where are you bits and Bob's are hanging out. The definition is literally "crude and offensive in a sexual way". I have nothing against people wanting to make attractive characters, but you can do that without having to dress them in skimpy outfits, which is what you were implying when you said lewd. I wasn't insulting anyone who wants attractive characters, just commenting that not everyone wants to walk around in them. Or even most people like you claim. Again you keep trying to speak for a large group of people... if they agree, let them speak for themselves. You can state your own tastes, fine, but stock trying to speak for others.

And by the way, you're the one who seems to get worked up the most in these conversations. You've been arguing with nearly everyone here except a few "hardcore crafters from 2.0" who suddenly appeared out of the woodwork. And you've been condescending to everyone who doesn't share your opinion. Hell, from your attitude, I wouldn't be surprised if you liked your own posts with alts or something especially with how the likes always come as soon as you post, but I won't outright say you do because I have no proof. You could just have a few friends stalking but not talking (and if they are, do us all a favor and speak your own minds).

You seem to have a tough time understanding that the people I speak for usually do not browse the forums, and if they do, they don’t care enough to post. There was literally a pretty formidable crafter on my thread just yesterday who admitted he just lurks the forums. I’m going to keep saying it, no matter what people tell me, because it’s simply the truth. The truth is all I’m here to speak. No point debating with me over this, it’s not going to go anywhere.

You need to read what I said again, “crude and offensive” would be what you said to me a few posts earlier. And again, because people disagree with you and refuse to post, they are alts? Well, since you want to be a detective, I’m going to let you know now, that you get banned for stuff like that. Don’t come up with conspiracies just because people disagree with you. Another case of people only hearing and thinking what they want to hear and think, never mind the facts.

Also, you’re not exactly off to a good start with me calling a bunch of people perverts and street walkers. Then you go to call me condescending because of your rude statement. I’m not sure when the crafting section got filled with posters with your rude tones, but it’s pretty uncalled for. Treat others the way you’d like to be treated, simple.

Anyways, if there is no actual discussion to be had here, and it’s just going to be the same exact people being rude, hateful, and name calling me for simply having a strong opinion...I do something called Ignore. By the way, why do Likes even matter? It’s just a bias system. If people like you AND agree with you, they press Like, if they don’t like you, they don’t. I am not very fond of certain posters here nor do I agree with them, so I won’t Like anything they say.
