As a buyer on a budget, I dab.
I see we went from attempting to screw 1 gil undercutters to screwing gatherers and other crafters so we cheap out on crafting mats.
Housing item markets are... interesting this last week.
Watching things go from "I can make a profit" to "thanks for listing them at 'I make a profit off desynthing them' rates" in less than a day is an interesting thing to behold.
Its like watching market speculation being done by a lot of people who have no understanding of why theyre making the items they made or how to price them.
I do appreciate the secondary market effect of making raw mats absurdly cheap. It makes white scrips and submersibles easier.

A while back I was looking for a lightning cluster I needed to craft something and the very first result was 4000 of them on sale for 4000 gil total so I bought them. Honestly I was expecting to have to pay at least a few thousand just for one. Not sure how difficult they are to acquire though.
interesting, it's 97k on my server, while the most expensive is at 2m
Colour me ignorant but what's actually wrong with undercutting by 1 gil?
This is our future. Our story.
SE has done a good job enabling ignorant/thoughtless players to completely destroy the economy on most servers.
I'm not seeing any economies destroyed. I've still profited quite well so far this patch despite selling many items for less than I did in the past. Perhaps you're focusing on the wrong items to sell or have your per item profit expectations set too high?
For the economies to be destroyed, the majority of items would need to be selling below the sell to vendor prices. While there is a small percentage of items that are that low, most items are still far above it.
If you're gathering the materials yourself. check the prices. You might just come out ahead by selling the mats and skipping the crafting part..
It would be much better if they eliminated the visiting part, and just combined all the market boards between the connected servers, so you can see what the competition is at a glance.
While I would prefer each server be a closed economy unto itself, if we must have crossworld MB, this would be the preferable method of doing it. Making the MB data-center-wide that's accessible from your homeworld.
