Pre-5.1 an Aurum Regis nugget (lvl 60 mat) sold for about 5-8k NQ, because they had to be crafted.
    Uh..

I've got bad news for you about that one. AR nuggets are sold by the Vath. Along with a bunch of other nuggets.

it's not like there's anything of particularly high value you can buy with company seals, many just leave their seals capped out cause whaddamigonnadowithem.
Sad thing is that unless you actually use the mats you're desynthing (or just doing it for skillups), theres a LOT of stuff thats still just better to seal and sell the seal mats than try to sell the desynth product. Those years old "heres the stuff you can buy for seals that sell well" guides are still pretty relevant. Scheelite might be less useful now, but if it starts with 'Raziq', its annoying to get and probably sells better than any random nugget, lumber, ingot, or xcraft 2 materia.

Could be a few things. Maybe they want money fast and figure that a substnatial undercut will get them the money faster.

Sometimes, like with pets from a new dungeon, things are put up at absurd prices and then start falling quickly as more and more people get into the new content and more supply floods the market.

Or in one exmaple, I get a Ceto's claw from Pyros (I think that was the item name?) that people were trying to sell for 40 mil. When I looked at the item's transaction log, the highest rescent purchase was 20 mil. I decided the other person's 40 mil wasn't realistic and put mine up for 20.
And then sometimes you end up with this (current on the left, recent on the right, everything in recent is from 11/9 and 11/10)

I swear people just like burning money sometimes.
