You physically can't be flooded with 10,000 icons with only a few 5x5 bags. Visual colourful icon cues is always faster than line of texts (unless you are blind or among a few exceptions).
Mod yourself an UI with list and tabs then, they'll add support to custom mods anyway (if they won't support the choice of both list display and icon display).
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
no it isnt. in wow with many different coloured icon as well as shared/or simlar icons you can be looking for 5 minutes hovering mouse over all the items and still miss it.You physically can't be flooded with 10,000 icons with only a few 5x5 bags. why is there still only one action bar?

If it takes you more than 30 seconds to mouse over every icon, you're doing something horribly wrong.
Yeah bags and icon's is dumb. Have a nice list with a small icon next to the name of the item, guarantee that would be 1000% faster to find items.
Plus, icons in 5x5 bags with a controller is going to be a nightmare.
I like icon view. When they brought Dragon Quest 8 out of Japan they redid the inventory system and made it a MMO-style icon-based inventory system instead of the shitty list system DQ games have. Unfortunately they never adopted it again because the inventory system is easily one of the lowest points of DQ games.
It's faster to find your items when the view is in the icon style list especially since you can move left and right instead of simply up/down or page up/page down. It's also better for KB/mouse players. Someone mentioned wanting a Tabbed bag menu and I think that would be a nice idea for people that don't want their screen cluttered. They just have to make the icons large enough and distinct enough for us to see what is in the slots.
I'm for the icon view as well but I see for gamepad player the list option is good.
I remember someone asked on the JP side about spells and actions like FFXI or other FF series and the devs were going to see if in 2.0 that option was going to be possible so for game pad players or old school FF people can play in classic FF like screen while keyboard, more MMO oriented player can play with current action bar with icons and all that. I remember translating it but don't know which post it was on lol.
EDIT.. I guess this post is invisible... cool![]()

No, no. I'm sorry, it's not any more efficient than having a list display. It's a lot less efficient the more like-colored icons you get which naturally takes people a bit of time to mouse over anything because while time may be an illusion you'll eventually be mousing over a ton of items the more you play.
That's called common sense.
Less efficient for you, more efficient for others, everyone thinks different, I actually hope we have option for both types but I'm all for the 5x5 bags. No, no.
