No, no. I'm sorry, it's not any more efficient than having a list display. It's a lot less efficient the more like-colored icons you get which naturally takes people a bit of time to mouse over anything because while time may be an illusion you'll eventually be mousing over a ton of items the more you play.

    That's called common sense.

Less efficient for you, more efficient for others, everyone thinks different, I actually hope we have option for both types but I'm all for the 5x5 bags.

It's all in how you want to play, sure, but when you think about it isn't it better to see what things are without having to hover over each one? Especially if you're like the typical player who has a ton of armor and weapons during farming/raid sessions from MMOs that has enemies that drop it lol.

You don't have to hover everytime if you organize your bags, most likely people will just place specific stuff in specific places and just remember where most of the stuff is, will be rare the times you have to hover stuff, that's what I think at least. ^.^

Truth to be told, no, it isn't easier to see with icons at least for me. Why? When I see a bunch of icons together I start to phase out and not realize what each icon means so I need to mouseover to see what the popup says. Then if I don't feel like waiting forever reading everything with care I often pass through the same spot three or four times without realizing what I am looking is that.
That comes from playing games like Neverwinter Nights which had similar inventory systems.

ALSO, I do believe that the 'bag' system is for the UI only so you can quickly identify your gear/consumable status without having to open up an item window, whereas item-using will be it's own tabbed list display. Or at least I hope it is so, because while I am all for the bag idea in the active UI I sure as hell don't want that on my item menu, MUCH LESS on my usable item menu because it is already a goddamn mess thew ay it is, doing it with icons is going to make it worse.
