Ah, yes. I remember how well that went down.
"I'm a DPS, why should I be forced to heal???"
People didn't take it as a chance to experience healing. People took it as an affront to their happy little DPS playstyle.
To be fair, what of healing was there to experience except looking at a HP bar that wasn't yours? The classes we play in these instances are really simple. No more complex than playing a real class at level 10 at best. You could get a similar healing experience similar to the Y'shtola instance playing Arcanist in a dungeon, which is a DPS. Understandably SE wants these to be accessible to everyone, but that's going to make them boring for more advanced players and limit how much of a class you'll get to experience. It's a tricky problem though, because even if I was given the complexity to make them fun, I'd need to spend time rearranging my skills before or possibly during the event.
Imagine being given something else than the usual and still complaining.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
This. that fight was so important, but went on for about 10 minutes too long. The fight is about 13 or so minutes long, and it really shouldn't have been.
Aside from the length and how quickly repetitive it became, it was fine.
Also, as others have mentioned, in SB when you play as Hien and Yshtola with minimal attacks in equally length battles, that was awful.
I'd say it's hit and miss with these types of things as they still seem to be figuring out how to balance it and not make us too OP maybe?
The thing that bothers me the most about these is that I cannot change the hotkeys, so playing them is actually difficult to do because I prefer using buttons 2~5 for rotation. I don't use ` for rotation so having the base ability on it is very annoying to play.
Story-wise I like these scenes, I just wish the fights were a tad shorter since with limited abilities there isn't much interesting about chiseling away that much HP.
I'm sorry you have to play as another character for barely 10 minutes when you put over 100+ hours into your actual character. 10 minutes won't kill you.Really tired of these gimmick solo dungeons playing as another character every patch. The newest one isn't as bad as previous ones in terms of design, but it still was boring and unfulfilling. Everything done in it could have just been shown as a cutscene, or not really at all because it honestly had very little story value.
I don't want to play as story character #238. I want to play as my character.
I will agree with this. Muscle memory messed with me on some of these fights, because I had their equivalent skills in entirely different places.
Thought it is a fair thing to point out letting us edit them might be easier said that done, because someone might find a way to slap unintended skills into the encounters.
Is that why? Because I use the crosshotbar, so all I need is to be able to flip the actions to the left side of the hotbar. I don't need to manually move any action.I will agree with this. Seriously? That was amazing! I was freaking out like a fangirl over the latest installment! These NPCs are seriously amongst my favorite! Sorry to OP, but SE - KEEP'EM COMING!![]()
But that's not what people were complaining about. They were complaining that they shouldn't have to heal period. It wasn't even a particularly hard fight, though I imagine people who weren't used to stutterstepping casts would have more issues, but people were just all over complaining about it.To be fair, what of healing was there to experience except looking at a HP bar that wasn't yours?
