It depends on the character I am playing and how long the sequence is. The one in patch 5.1 was perfect, but Thancred vs. Ranjit was seriously the worst part of Shadowbringers.

This. that fight was so important, but went on for about 10 minutes too long. The fight is about 13 or so minutes long, and it really shouldn't have been.
Aside from the length and how quickly repetitive it became, it was fine.
Also, as others have mentioned, in SB when you play as Hien and Yshtola with minimal attacks in equally length battles, that was awful.
I'd say it's hit and miss with these types of things as they still seem to be figuring out how to balance it and not make us too OP maybe?
Agreed. The concept of the fight was cool but the low DPS just draaaaaagged it out way too much.
Also it highly depends on how interesting the abilities are.
Loved the 5.1 one though. [censored]-Bro is so OP, it's hilarious.
Not sure if serious but use the blue skill (Horrid Roar, me thinks) whenever adds are there. Encompasses the entire Arena and they'll die instantly.I recorded the fight the last time to analyze it. After the big radial AOE, I get my health back up, and then he casts a fire explosion called Terminus Est, and I'm dead. It looks like it may come from the little adds around the outer edge of the arena. I guess I'll have to try killing them before this.
Only knack is realizing you need to LB when he gets to invuln, rest is ... well honestly I didn't get to see many abilities of the boss because I just hopped around having fun, dodging crap automatically.![]()

I liked the bit before that fight, but yes that was probably the most intentionally padded fight in a game I've ever seen.
