There was wasn't really any CP wiggle room to use Reclaim for high end crafts in the first place, so the main thing it's doing is making Reuse fishing impractical which was much needed for the sake of keeping certain items in the economy somewhat valuable..
Also, you can still regain materials without it, just not that often.
Pretty much this. It really blows my mind why people think endgame things should be overly accessible like that. It devalues a lot of things, including your time spent per craft. There needs to be at least some barrier of entry, and I’m glad 5.1 marks the return of that. It’ll kind of be like HW or ARR again. There was wasn't really any CP wiggle room to use Reclaim for high end crafts in the first place, so the main thing it's doing is making Reuse fishing impractical which was much needed for the sake of keeping certain items in the economy somewhat valuable..

Hehe the real fun will be all the people in a rush to get the new stuff on the mb. Goes without saying there are going to be people blowing scripts, gil and materials without taking a whee bit of time to get a handle on the new system.
Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!

I think the biggest problem is SE needed to do this a lot sooner like HW or SB and we are what 5 years in and finally they decided to clean up the crafting system, that's 5 years of ability bloat its bound to be a shock to the system seeing what looks like a gutting of skills being done.
Hopefully SE wont leave it so long the next time.

I would rather say that I hope SE learned their lesson and will stop with the endless ability bloat and continue to use sensible things like upgrade traits and upgrade existing abilities rather than feeling some need to reinvent the wheel every expansion. I really don't see why we need more than maybe 1 new skill per expansion to be honest.I think the biggest problem is SE needed to do this a lot sooner like HW or SB and we are what 5 years in and finally they decided to clean up the crafting system, that's 5 years of ability bloat its bound to be a shock to the system seeing what looks like a gutting of skills being done.

I'm sure with enough creativity you can find ways to add things to existing abilities to mix things up a little.

They made crafting easier than ever. What a shock. A single RNG skill that's somewhat useful and it's not even required.
Looks like only the masterbook crafts will be hard and everything else is going to be a cheese fest. But cant say how hard Master 7 and up will be. I am still getting all my melds done, Also got two classes left to level up so we will know soon as someone who can craft them gives it a try.

I don't know what you mean by Master 2 but the 460 crafting/gathering gear looks like it'll be a cakewalk. I'm not the best crafter around and I was just doing some testing but I was able to get ~30000 quality discounting times I got good procs (which means I'd need 14K starting quality, or 7 HQ materials in the recipe) and had 27CP to spare, not using a single RNG-based skill. So, very macro-able.
