Keeping things inflated with players, or, in other words, giving everyone a happy face sticker for participation like in kindergarten isn’t really necessary nor is it common practice in most online video games, and it shouldn’t be. People are separated by work ethic and effort naturally in all games. Also, back in 3.x before SE started catering to casual players, the game sold just fine and did very well. And even if they do create an “elite pool”, you and everyone will still continue playing the game.
What they are doing is a good thing. They probably realize they’ve been screwing over vet crafters for a little over 2 years now, and want to give back. They gave casual and new players what they wanted already, is it too much to ask to actually do something for vets or hardcore players once in awhile?
Also, endgame content is supposed to be difficult. Dont know what makes you think it should be as easy as level 20 content. 90% of online video games don’t work that way. I mean, like the posts above, if you can’t find the patience or care enough to read a tutorial on how to farm materia for low cost, then I think it’s good SE finally makes balancing changes.
It’s a joke name, haha. I have other joke name characters on other worlds you might find funny as well lol.
Anyways, they’re not revamping their RNG algorithm just so you and I can have a hunky dory time melding things. If it’s too hard for you, you simply don’t do it or find the resolve to try again another time. That’s what separates determined players from casual players. They have made crafting so easy these past 2 years, that if you haven’t accumulated a decent amount of Gil during that period of SE’s generosity towards casual players, I don’t know what else to say. I know you have the work ethic in you, trust me you can do this.
Melding is RNG and always has been, always will be.
