The upped exp and rewards are given for a reason. Exploiting is flat out cheating and removing the point of giving those rewards and you have no right to them at that point. What gives ANY of you any reason to think that you have a right to those rewards when you do not do the requirements for them? That is the textbook example of entitlement and arrogance. If you don't want to do what is required for the rewards... then you DO NOT DESERVE THEM. Don't queue for it. Flat out. It isn't 'white knighting' to say otherwise. If you want the ability to skip the cut scenes back, then they should remove the increase in exp and tomes that came with them. Spoiled. Brats. Seriously. And yes, I do report people for this kind of thing. And I have taught other people how to do it.
It's also VERY simple how to tell when people accidentally DC. Along with getting out of CS early due to differences in language settings. Either be decent people or not, just own it and admit that you would rather be entitled brats who don't earn things as intended and break the TOS.
Well as long there is no hard evidence i have my doubts, true its an exploit but from what i have seen and noticed its in the lines of if you dont talk about it no one cares (certain programs etc). But hey maybe i just got lucky in the end feel the room if the group isnt up tight then do as you please.
That's one way. Usually people say something. There is also deliberately charging ahead every fight to pull the bosses and rush the instance. It's painfully obvious when people are doing this exploit and when someone has a bad ISP/DC issue.
My friend's gotten punished for it with a 3 day suspension without having said anything in chat, GMs have a lot of tools at their disposal to tell if its happening if a report comes their way. Realistically you did get lucky, but it is breaking the ToS. It's simply a matter of 'do it at your own risk'. But if you get unlucky and someone in your party dislikes it and files a report against you and you end up in front of a GM, you only have yourself to blame for any suspension you receive.Well as long there is no hard evidence i have my doubts, true its an exploit but from what i have seen and noticed its in the lines of if you dont talk about it no one cares (certain programs etc). That's really the simplicity of it. You're the one risking your account, up to you to decide if saving the time is worth potentially losing access to your account for multiple days (3, 10 or 20+), or being straight up banned depending on the frequency/severeity of it.
It makes no sense to me that people get so angry at the cutscene skipping thing
Most of the people reporting others for skipping the cutscenes probably game the alliance roulette by unequipping their gear to lower ilvl for CT anyway lol
By the time you call your ISP and they either sort things out or tell you yet again the problem is in your end, you'd have already finished the duty, with hiccups (or get kicked).
Not to mention some people don't have more than one ISP to choose from, so they're stuck with hiccups (certain areas of US monopolized by specific ISP come to mind)
I can't see how (or why) you'd make that connection for any reason other than to dismiss the people whose opinion you don't agree with.
The roulette isn't for us it's for newbies who are trying to experience the story. Which for ARR is basically the equivalent of the final dungeon/area of a traditional Final Fantasy. Having seen just how badly newbies got treated before the anti-skips were put in place and now how nasty players get now when others don't break the TOS with them, outright kicking players who don't conform as has been pointed out in this very thread, you bet I find it annoying. The people who skip or whine about the cutscenes have other ways to make exp or gather tomes, but the new players have no recourse if they want to enjoy the story and happen to have the misfortune of getting into a group that has decided to forego the very reason the roulette was created in the first place.
