Ready for Nier Dark Apocalypse?

I'm excited about this. I don't have any expectation that I'll have needed to play the NieR games to understand it, though I'm sure there'll be details/in-jokes/references that people who have will get that I won't. But I see no reason to think the storyline itself won't be set in FF14 first and influenced by NieR second. The creator of the NieR games seems to be a very thoughtful and deliberate storyteller, and I know the ShB team is good, too, so I currently have no worries on that front.

My current running theory is Yorha is another Ancient site like Amaurot. Maybe another city, maybe a testing ground for creation constructs, I dunno. I'm hoping this will give us more story on the time of the Terminus event and maybe even more to play with when it comes to the cause of the sound that made it all happen (though I imagine that might be covered in the msq at some point, so it won't be ALL the answers here). But it is called "Dark Apocalypse" after all, so the Terminus Event being involved somehow seems a good bet.

My only concern is gameplay. I'm a bit worried it'll turn into another Wiping City for a while. Since the NieR guy seems to love creative and difficult combat mechanics. Which I'm cool with in principle, but when there's 23 other people? I'm hoping they have a reasonable margin for error. I'd like to actually finish this raid series sometime before *our* apocalypse. lol

While it looks nice, I fully expect neither to be dyable, which makes it unworthy.

id say they will be dyable but not something you receive till the very last quest
so people might have some complaints how first raid doesn't give them anything

I don't know anything about Nier other than the fact that people like dressing as 2B, so I've started reading TheDarkId's Let's Play of it in order to prepare.

I hope there's a fight against a moose at some point. Or, at least, a segment where you mow down robots on the back of a moose.

I mean, I'll play it but I'm probably just not going to pay any attention to what's going on. I don't really have any desire to play Nier Automata; though I know enough of its lore to perhaps understands what's going on. Bless those who don't even have that and are going in like 'why the hell am I here, and what does this have to do with final fantasy?' Why do I not care to play it N:A? I hate hip swing, as you can imagine I can only take so much of animu panties before I'm just sick of what I'm seeing. I'm sure it's great for some - and will add something to FF14, but whatever it's adding - it certainly ain't 'Final Fantasy'.

Tbh if you want my opinion i Drakengard 3 or just Drakengrd would've fit better in general. I love Automata, but it just seems to not really fit in with FFXIV atleast i think and its very overated Drakengard needs more attention. Drakengard 3 was my favorite. I would also love some of the 6 sisters outfits and weapons. I'm not bashing on the writers or directors just expressing my own thoughts.

It's basically a collaboration that SE controls entirely, imo. I'm sure they'll make it fit as best as they can lore wise though since it is a permanent addition.

Still a Square Enix property. I’ll have to remember this the next time someone asks for a Chrono Trigger/ Star Ocean/ Valkyrie Profile/ Bravely Default/ Front Mission/ Octopath Traveler (etc etc) event/raid/glams/body pillow?

Or are those different because reasons?

Minus Monster Hunter, what they've done with other unrelated games or series has touched the game in fairly superficial ways. They leave no lasting impact on the world. But we know that the 24 man content does leave a lasting impact on the world and is included in the canon.

It's also insulting that XIII, XV, and even the other MMO XI received this superficial treatment, but somehow this unrelated game is worth a 24 man raid tier? Hell I can't stand VII and I would take a VII raid over this. Because it's part of the series and belongs here having that sort of influence on the lore and the world.

Personally, I think XIII's brief appearance in this game at all was an insult in itself, but I have a pretty strong hatred for that title. The free stuff was nice though I suppose.

Played both Niers, platinum'ed Nier Automate 100% earning all achievement, buying not a single one, means having seen all endings, I'm more than ready for it, I'm hot for it, can't wait

PSI really hope for it, that Drakengard 1-3 get HD Remasters/Remakes with improved Gameplay Features/more Content, all 3 of them somewhat deserve it to be brought to PS4 or 5 as a kind of Trilogy Pack with all DLC included in regard of 3, that would be awesome and definetely a must buy day 1 for me.

The games were at PS2 times very lackluster, nice story n character designs, but the weak ps2/3 at those times weren't able to give those games really awesome combats, the AI in the games was terrible.
These games could be so much better under current or next console gen
And bringing those 3 games to the curreng gen surely would reactivate the fanbase even more for a brand new needed Drakengard 4 that should be made for PS5 then.
