“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
― Ernest Hemingway
I am very excited and am sure the raid itself will be great but as per usual the player base will make it miserable, lol
Can't wait to go in with 23 people who are equally clueless.
"Look, something over there is glowing"
"Now I'm glowing too. Maybe I need to walk towa-" *BOOM* raid dead.
"Okay, maybe not"
1st week blind runs are fun.![]()
The map looks pretty ugly to me.
"The worst foe lies within the self."
We haven't really seen a lot of it as is, plus this is only the first part.
Also to be entirely fair, the landscape in Automata is pretty depressing and gloomy in a lot of areas. It's a ruined Earth inhabited only by machines, after all. Anyone who was expecting something fantastical and traditionally beautiful may be disappointed.
It would be epic if they can copy the ending credit roll into FF14. The players from previous raid that willing to sacrifice their loot/toke will show up as NPC to assist current raid to defeat the last boss
No thank you. I heard it's a direct sequel to the ending of one of the games? How is this relevant to FF again? How does this not leave people playing an MMO in another game series NOT out in the cold who haven't played it??
And I hope to the Twelve it doesn't explain anything lore related. I'd rather the lore of FFXIV get explained by...yanno...FFXIV.

Now back on topic:
We don't really know how the Nier content stuff is related to the FF14 world yet. It could be another Shard or could be something from what remains of another civilization before the Sundering created the 13 Shards.
Maybe a Civilization that did not develop well with Magic thus they took Science as their advancement and focus more on developing technology to the point they were able to create androids such as 2B.
Please, no. I'd be so, so disappointed and maybe a little peeved if they try to shoehorn some other (not even FF) game into the lore. I don't even know why they're making this, honestly. This isn't 'Nier Automata XIV'.This is FFXIV content in a certain point of view.

No one knows what goes on in the minds of someone like Yoko Taro and his endless abyss of madness.
Jokes, aside...
other than just a cross-over, I am assuming they did original have plans for the 5.0 Raid to involve a Ancient Civilization that heavy depended on Science with no influence of Magic within the world to influence their development thus no magic to base technology on like Allagans and Garleans did with Magitek but that may have been basically a FF14 version of a Nier so they just grabbed Nier instead to get a originally planned minicross-over event as something bigger and since it basically was going to be the same plot with FF themed stuff instead of Nier.
It may have been a plot to show how the FF14 world may have turned out if Magic never existed from the beginning but as I said the environment and technology may have ended up being nothing more than just a FF14 version of Nier world or maybe a Post-Apoclypse FF15 world.
