Well, the toilet thing can be handwaved given Eorzea is at an uneven tech level and socially at least, is somewhat equivelant to the early 'modern' (read: 1700s+) era (despite some advancement), meaning most people would not have anything remotely advanced in their homes as a flush toilet, instead they would just use for their ablutions something basic like a chamberpot under their bed. In fact, a low level FATE in Southern Thanalan called 'Downwind' strongly suggests most toilets in Eorzea are latrines that are little more than a hole in the ground outside that collects the waste, which naturally attracts unwanted pests and vermin.

So really the lack of toilets is easily explained as something somewhat too technological for the setting.

I disagree when we have a working sink, shower, bathtub and other modern furniture.
There is already some kind of plumping. So there is no excuse not to have a toilet.

One of the 'continuing' NPC stories back in HW was about a pregnant woman who ran away with a poor man to live in Idyllshire, though I forget what happens to them after that. He's still there pulling weeds but I haven't seen her in awhile, even though she had had her baby by that point.

Sometimes, you can find the woman standing around back in those gardening fields holding her baby.

I don't think it would be that hard if they wanted to - unlike those NPCs, they don't need to make an entirely new character model, they just need to make a custom "body gear" piece that changes the shape of the stomach.

In fact, a low level FATE in Southern Thanalan called 'Downwind' strongly suggests most toilets in Eorzea are latrines that are little more than a hole in the ground outside that collects the waste, which naturally attracts unwanted pests and vermin.

That's for Little Ala Mhigo though - one of the "lowest-tech" settlements in Eorzea. You can't judge what the cities are like based on their approach.

Actually two people pregnant people in the SHB that I remember, ones a Viera and the other is some lass in the crystarium or whatever. I remember a pregnant lady in previous expansions as well. They're just not going to make a pregnant model.

Ah, so it's not all the time then. For awhile she was there every time I checked so when I didn't see her the last few times I got really confused as to whether they continued the story lol. Thanks for the clarification!

There are train tracks running through Thanalan, but we never see the train. It's even a plot point that Yda and Y'shtola get into an Imperial castrum by stowing away on their supply train. The only train we see in the game is the Phantom Train boss in Sigmascape.

I suddenly reminded of the train system in FF8 and how I would drag that segment for as long as I could(it was so cool) because it's only usable for a short while.
