Yeah, no. I highly doubt the devs intended for players to game the system into making it think they're lower level than they are so they can get into easier raids. Considering your response, I have a sneaking suspicion you engage in this yourself.

This, also, from the person who wishes it were possible to name-and-shame other players if they do something wrong... hilarious.

I've never done that because I accept that queuing for a roulette means I'm fine with running any content that roulette can put me in at my level. I get the reward for running the roulette because I'm willing to participate in the content I'm thrown in at random - and thats pretty obviously the way it was intended to be.

The easiest fix for the moment would probably be to remove the ilvl-requirements for the 24-man-raids from the past expansions. If people can end up in Holminster with an ilvl of 290, they can do Orbonne with that ilvl. Once they found a way to fix ilvls for leveling roulette, they can apply the same fix to the alliance roulette to make sure you can only queue for it if you have the appropriate level and ilvl (=the ilvl required for the highste possible raid) for it.
Right now its not working as intended and we shouldnt promote such abusive of the system, for our own sake. Arent we all annoyed by people not being able to execute simple mechanics? Arent we all complaining about the lack of a proper learning curve from dungeon to trial to NM raid to Ex-primal to Savage? Neither Labyrinth nor Syrcus Tower give people the chance to learn how to handle mechanics. HW and SB raids would have a better shot at that - but of course its best to avoid those and then end up surprised when people fail the trials in your trial roulette...

Omg ^ this. Thank you for stating such. I queue 5/5 Ex Primals regularly for fun, as well as to simply help others new to the game, and cannot believe how many mentors land in there and immediately complain "why would anyone Duty Finder this, form a Party". These... "fake mentors" for lake of a better term will literally berate the newcomers for not using Party Finder instead.

My response every time is "Why would you queue mentor roulette if you're not willing to accept what you're potentially getting yourself into". I strongly wish the Mentor Roulette either consisted of only Extreme content, or that there was in fact, a roulette for extreme content.

I (and many others) do not, given the current reward structure. Pay attention to the second part, cupcake, the value judgment is the "opinion" in question.

Their assessment is correct because SerLuke essentially made the argument 'some people who queue into Alliance Raid and pull Laby/Syrcus literally couldn't have gotten anything else, therefore there is no problem.' While ignoring that this thread isn't about those people, it's about the ones who are willfully abusing the system by taking gear off before queue and have been in this thread admitting as such.

Attempting to use a tangential justified circumstance to shut down an argument about abuses is essentially carrying water for the abusers, intentional or not.

In response to your other comment, yes some people will always try to game the system. However, a well built system will minimize the number of people willing or able to do so. Just changing around ilvl requirements for the roulettes would make this kind of instance evasion much harder. People who want the roulette rewards, but feel entitled to not having to do Orbonne or Weeping City or whatever, will have to eat the half hour penalty or hope someone else does before them.

As to the word choice, I'm not sure what the intent of the first statement's hun was. SerLuke putting it in quotations in response was meant as an obvious retort and indicated he likely felt the first usage was patronizing. Mirdh (and Chalbee) italicizing the huns thereafter is indicative of a sharper tone and inflection, and does seem to lean into being more of an intentional barb (along the same lines as addressing someone as boy). Essentially, it may not have been intended to give offense at first, but the later uses certainly do.

Of course, sharp language alone does not invalidate someone's arguments. When people are begrieved by something, it can actually be rather callous or dismissive to expect thorough politeness from them.

Partially agree, the system should be adjusted to push people into higher level duties, but again if they don't scale the exp, then there is still no benefit to sticking through Orbonne because a bad Orbonne run just takes too long to be worth it.

You're really going to the extremes here for some reason with that joke...
1st of all, the entire point of the roulettes is to have old content stay alive and help newbies get through it.
Without the MSQ one no one in their right mind would ever do it but you get a nice bonus for going.
I severely doubt that you cheesing your ilvl is what they wanted people to do.

Needs a fix, and also adjust the EXP earned from it.
You get the same from 15 min Tower than you do in 30+ min Orbonne.
