Who else is sick and tired of getting these in the alliance roulette?
I swear in my experience I get one of these two raids 95% of the time. I only get HW and StB alliance raids once in a blue moon. Heck even getting World of Darkness is exciting. I feel so burned out on these crystal tower raids that I can't help but to feel nauseous as soon as I hear the beginning of the music. You can only imagine my disgust when the Moogle event went live before ShB.

I'm sure other players are sick of these raids too. Nearly every mechanic gets ignored now (Zombie Dragon skeletons, Scylla orbs, Amon slimes). That's how brain-numbing this is. The only mechanics I see that don't get ignored are "Ancient Flare", "4-on-a-pad" (loosely), and "Ecliptic Meteor."

I understand if I see a First-Time-Bonus that there's a new player or alt. However when I don't see a First-Time-Bonus I get confused. I just wonder why we were put in those raids. Sure there may be characters on jobs not 60 yet but that doesn't explain why WoD is so rare. Do level 50-59 characters really outnumber characters 60-80 by so much?

Really wish they would implement some sort of fix for this, because it is incredibly annoying. Not to mention that while I was leveling an alt and got to higher end alliance raids, it would take substantially more time to find people since those that could join to help me and fellow alts progress the story are using this method to avoid doing those higher end raids. I feel it's a problem that should get addressed at some point, but I don't think enough people care to make it an issue.

And sometimes break the queue when they do. I've had around three Orbonne's that had a monstrous time filling empty spots after people leave before the start gates even fall. One incident had several spots that didn't fill from start to Agrias, or even when the whole Alliance collective agreed to wait fifteen minutes to fill the roles. That attempt disbanded, honestly prematurely as the raid is doable these days even with a couple empty spots if people are on top of their game. Another one saw the attempt end at Cid for similar reasons - though this time it was a conga line of 'leaves' and the duty finder outright refusing to fill some of the missing spots even after more agreed upon waiting.

I'd honestly be down for them removing the ability to smurf entirely and impose a harsher penalty for leaving Alliance raids (like actually getting the penalty if you leave even after someone else does) until the player base has the bad behavior collectively beaten out of themselves. Either that or fixing the tuning on the tower climb so that people /have/ to do mechanics so people are less inclined to smurf. Since most of the player base has collectively forgotten how to even do half the mechanics in those raids since HW, since the bosses die so quickly, it'd be a good incentive not to tempt fate. Though they would have to fix some of the Lab mechanics to work with only 3 tanks, since Bone dragon was designed with 6 in mind.

The fact is, that you don't need to unlock all 9 in order to open up the roulette. There are a good amount of people queuing for Alliance Roulette who never unlocked the higher level choices.

Yes, it does. The game only verifies your gear when you initiate the queue itself. If you switch jobs or take everything off while waiting for it to pop, that doesn't impact what your results will be. If you were naked then queued, it's impossible to get Orbonne Monastery.

Under ilevel 90 you'll get only CT or ST. WOD requires ilevel 90, Void ilevel 175, Weeping 205, Dun Scaith 235. Orbonne requires an ilevel of 365 so no idea how you're getting Monestary in your bday outfit.

I have a character on Balmung who is a skipper. I jumped her recently given i wanted a Viera there. The only duties I've unlocked for her atm are CT, ST and WOD. Now that CT is fairly easy to unlock those raids are pretty accessible. I've had characters where I started with Void and Weeping to unlock the roulette given the CT unlock was just too much of a pain to do. Unless you want to have all duties unlocked and cleared I see little reason for me at least to do them all on some of my alts.

^ This is 100% true! Me and several players I know don't unlock raids because we come back to the expansion late/or during new expansion and old alliance raids content aren't worth unlocking outside of lore/glamour. We just get poetics gear and move onto next expansion. That said my guess would be more players are on the casual side and don't have all raids unlocked hence it being weighted to ARR raids. Also my alts only have syrcus and CT, so they will also force you into raids you don't want sorry.

Asking for a fix is implying there is something wrong with the system. It's working as intended tho ^^ Next thing you know, people ask for it to become a reportable offense. Some time in the future you'll be banned for equipping lower gear, or like in the other thread, for putting you PF party in the wrong category ^^
People who do that obviously don't want to play the raid you queued for, so why implement something that forces them and wil lead to them leaving or not queuing up anymore? As if that fixes your queues times.
