I could still go for a normal, non-elemental horse mount. We've got unicorns and pegasi and nightmares and stuff, but no regular ol' horse.

Go climb the HoH 4 times and get your 'regular ol' horse'. Thanks.
Also, to everyone complaining about the Amaro being 'too mundane'? Then don't do it??? It's a reward. A present for doing an achievement. If you don't like it... DON'T. DO. IT. Spoiled. Brats. I can see why people raise eyebrows at the EN forums a lot... good GRIEF. The Amaro reward is a nod towards Seto? You want a flashy mount, go farm the EXs for the Gwibbers. The Amaro is a cute little 'reward'. If you don't like or want it... don't do it. Don't use it. Not everything needs to be huge flashy and glowie. I mean... did we even get ANYTHING for getting everything to 70 in SB? No? Then HEY! THANK YOU for giving us ANYTHING AT ALL for getting to 80? How about THAT? YEESH.
I like you. The only thing I would add is it wouldn't matter what they offered as a reward for maxing 80's. People would complain regardless as they can't get it quickly. Gamers must have instant gratification and its quite sad as it ruins the journey.Go climb the HoH 4 times and get your 'regular ol' horse'. Thanks.

No, but we did get a mount from the SB MSQ for simply working through the story. We also got 3 mount in HW's MSQ. The amaro would have been a perfect MSQ mount, especially with how linked they are to the story.
But I guess if you want to keep ranting about spoiled brats, who are we to stop you?
Literally just got my Amaro Mount today and you know... Despite all the "it's not shiny" crap... I am proud as hecc of it. I don't think people should be focusing on "oh it's not worth it" or "it's so much work", and certainly not "it's not aesthetically pleasing enough to warrant that amount of effort". Truth is, after getting it, I was just damn happy to have it, knowing I worked my ass off for it, and have now have something alot of people won't get, because they are salty and would rather moan about something they have to work for, than actually work for it.
Just consider it a bragging rights reward for now. Besides, who is to say there won't be another Amaro for completing the 5.3 story down the road?
I have never levelled all my jobs to cap, never really felt the urge to, although I don't dislike any of them (except BLM, urghhh). Will I do it for the amaro mount. Absolutely! Already gotten my DRK to level 63 and trust me, that's a lot of runs of Sohm Ahl with my squadron. Having seen what happens to players, especially tanks, who are nervous and not sure of their skill, no way I'm going into actual dungeons with actual people. I love this game, been playing it since 1.0, but I find myself doing less and less battle based content unless it's solo or with friends. But I want the Amaro mount very much - I love their sad droopy faces - so I don't mind the grind and I don't think it should be made easier to get. I know I'll definitely appreciate it
Grats. I will join you in 4 levels.Literally just got my Amaro Mount today and you know... Despite all the "it's not shiny" crap... I am proud as hecc of it. My opinion is that no task which requires nothing except extraneous, excessive grind should have major rewards, even cosmetic ones. It just encourages a skinnerbox loop of players doing content they otherwise might not if there wasn't a digital carrot in front of them. In some people, it can exacerbate mental health/obsession issues.
The reward for getting all jobs to max is that you can play with every job at max level.
Aside Example: I've long hypothesized that the cultural weight Skillcapes gained in Runescape was actually what destroyed what that game originally was. People ground for literal real life weeks/months to aquire levels which had no content at that point in time, which subsequently forced Jagex to try and fill that design space, which in turn put on more pressure to max skills among the playerbase. This led to a ton of players being max combat, and getting bored with the game's overly basic combat (where Jagex just didn't have the design space for more involved fights), which led to the rushed and sloppy implementation of the Evolution of Combat.
Thankfully, nothing in FF14 pushes that mentality to such a degree.
