I think more so rushed for time, so they just retrofitted the faces they had to the hair when they realized the clipping issues. I've been speculating for awhile about that; I think they doubled down. This picture can show an example:



Extra fantasia sales from hrothgar players wanting a slight change is definitely a perk however.

The first face is like, 9999999 times better imo, and it atually makes it obvious what clan this male hrotgar is from

That's completely incorrect. When you pick a face, you also have the option to pick between two hairstyles for that face. Nice try though. Also, if you even bothered to read the interview I linked, you'd see they specifically say hairstyles.

To be honest, this is still pretty crappy. Only two hairstyles per face? Just what were they thinking - I get the time crunch but why release something that is so limited!?

I'm by no means saying that the current situation is great, just that saying they don't have hairstyles is wrong. I'm hoping for improvements, but honestly I'm spending more time in other games right now so it's a back burner issue for me, personally.

I cant really think that they expect male hrotgar players to spend 7 euros every single time they wanna change their hairstyle

A friendly reminder that few years ago we all were have to buy a fantasia if we wanted to change haircut or make up and... people did it a lot in fact (I personally did it 2 or 3 times at least). However, with what I can agree, it's weird to except people being happy with buying fantasia when everyone else can change their style for 2.000 Gil. Well. I doubt they thought we will be happy about this anyway.

It looks like in that image that Hrothgar hairstyles and faces weren't linked for a while until they decided to avoid clipping issues. That's still not acceptable for what we ended up getting though. What we have now is a beast race with customization somehow even more limited than WoW's character creation. Hrothgar and Viera both took more step backwards than forwards and only time will tell if they ever dedicate the time needed to complete these races. Ideally I'd love for both the first genders and the missing genders to be added in a complete state but honestly sometimes I feel better off pretending the new races just don't exist.

actually FFXIV's creator is like wows but less races height and changing ur face a little bit
