This kind of mentality is ignorant. People can totally clear high-end content without meta comps/jobs, but it doesn't mean there isn't any issues with the underperforming jobs and job balance.
It doesn't take a genius to see that the DPS job balance right now is wack. It's not that deep.

I'm really a broken recorder now:
1) We have to step out of the "Good enough to clear content" box.
2) Low DPS jobs punishes your harder than if you had a classic MNK/BLM/DRG comp if you make any mistakes. Which is supposed to be the opposite with "mobile" and "flexible" jobs.
3) It makes no sense than a grey BLM/MNK will do more DPS than a blue SMN, the tax raise is simply not worth.
4) Same as 3, you can sacrifice casts as BLM for the sake of mobility and you will still do more damage than a very good ranged.
