I honestly don't think Frontlines should have the reward structure it currently has to begin with... Change it from final results giving rewards, to active participation giving rewards. So if you get a kill, an assist, if you participate in an objective (activating a node, killing ice, etc), then that gives you the EXP/Wolf Marks/Tomes/etc. So someone who racks up 13 kills in one match and a bunch more assists is rewarded far more than someone who sat AFK half the match and did nothing, regardless of where the team placed.

Make it role based, too. So the amount rewarded is based on role, such that say assists on healers are worth as much as kills on melee, to balance out the rewards and avoid just having everyone go damage dealer.

    Sounds good to me.
Having 630k healing while second place had ~300k and getting the same reward is rather discouraging.

Hell, at this point ill agree with anything that discourage leechers/feeders joining FL's.
Tho i don't see FL's getting more popular as long as they allow premades.

Another idea I had was having a Gold/Silver/Bronze placement for all the categories in the results screen, with bonus rewards associated with placing in them. I believe Chocobo Racing already has a Gold/Silver/Bronze medal for its results, so they can literally just copy that and slap it next to players Kills/Assists/Damage/Healing/etc. Heck, even just a Gold medal next to your name in the results screen is a nice reward by itself, but bonus Wolf Marks/etc, perhaps even associated Achievements? It encourages striving to play well, which is sorely missing from PvP currently. Even in their "eSports" Feast, the vast majority strive for the bare minimum to place and that's it... That's a serious problem for a PvP mode, IMO. You can do your absolute best and still lose, or do pretty much nothing and win, so why bother putting that effort in? There's no reward for it. Why should anyone take a PvP mode remotely seriously when players stop putting effort into it because of that?

A lot of people say XIV PvP just "isn't fun", but honestly I think the problem is more that it just isn't rewarding... Not in the right way, at least... PvP in this game gives a ridiculous amount of rewards if we're being honest, they're just... Not good... The rewards are too PvE oriented, with perhaps the exception of Feast top 100 rewards, there's nothing that really feels like a prize for winning... All the Wolf Mark stuff, all the Achievements, they're just something you can grind out... If you're good you'll grind them out faster of course, but I don't really think that cuts it... You might have a 100% win rate in Seal Rock for that coat, but someone else can have a 1% win rate and still obtain it after enough matches... IDK, I feel like there just isn't a "win state" in this games PvP, so of course it wont be fun... People have fun in PvP by winning, but here everyone is a winner, so nobody is...

Agreed. It's a design choice that really doesn't meld well with PvP IMO, no amount of adjusting how many buttons we have is really going to change that... They could make the most engaging and deep PvP mode imaginable, but who's really going to put that effort into it when someone just rolling their face across their keyboard ends up getting the same rewards?
