If you spam, then you spam. It is obviously noted somewhere in some log that these quiet emotes were done, as the GM saw it in their logs. It is the entire emote that gets people annoyed, not just the SFX. It would be a loophole if you could annoy people with spamming emotes by just muting them, you are in fact still spamming emotes, silent or not.

A warning is fine. You spammed an emote. Period. Not using it as intended, but over the top. And then "some friend" is being summoned to add to the story. Said friend did someting "the otherday" and has been pulled into prison. In 2015, when I got pulled into the prison for AFKing in Haukke Manor on the sofas in the lobby, the GM could not pull me out of that duty as it was an instance and they won't ruin a dungeon for other people by taking a part of the group away out of a sudden. You get your punishment afterwards. So "your friend" might not telling the truth in that matter either.

I never said that I don't agree with the warning. Sure I find it a bit silly, but i merely stated and informed that even if you turn chat log off and use a silent emote it is still reportable and you can get a warning.

And the only thing i have to prove that I didn't just make up the story about "my friend" that got a warning "the otherday" is this, I blurred every name but mine.



I was not there, I was only in voice chat with them. The person in chat log blurred out was there spamming with them and i heard them laughing about it and even told them to stop spamming. Only one of them got reported, and pulled into prison.

You can believe what you want after this, I'm not here to convince you. I was merely, like I said, informing people that even without sound/log you will get a warning if you are reported.

Making too much noise in an apartment complex, considering their are actual laws regarding a private citizens right to privacy/not to be disturbed after certain hours/etc., is something completely different than emotes in a video game. Emotes in a game =/= blowing an airhorn in your face. Let's be real here.

Also, GM's are not the equivalent of real life courts, the situations are no where close to an actual legal system, especially if you live in the U.S.A. because there is no such thing as hate speech. We have complete freedom of speech here, the only way you get into trouble for speech in the US is if you are inciting violence or putting people in a dangerous situation (i.e. yelling fire in a crowded place when there is no fire). SE is not a publisher, they do not have publisher rights, they cannot be sued by person X for what person Y says in in-game chat. The chat falls under public forum, where in countries that have protected freedom of speech, you cannot legally get into trouble for what you say unless you are inciting violence.

If someone is playing loud music and blowing air horns that violate a noise ordinance or the quiet time laws for a city, yes they are breaking a law and should be in trouble. If some dude is standing off my property and blowing kisses at me all day, he's not breaking a law, he is being annoying.

I'm mainly a lurker on here and only post every now and then but I have to say you sir are breath of fresh air from all the whiny safe space idiots on here who wanna overact just cause they got their feelings hurt lol, not being sarcastic, I honestly want to commend you my friend and if your ever on goblin drop by and say hello my friend.

Please like.... use your brain for 5 seconds. Reporting someone because you're 'oversensitive' is one thing. I'm sure a lot reports go without any punishment because they weren't bad enough. A GM taking action and warning someone or putting them in the gaol means it was in fact a reportable offense and violated something in the ToS. So are you saying SE is a bunch of "whiny safe space idiots [...] who wanna overact just cause they got their feelings hurt"?

SE makes the rules here. If you get in trouble for spamming emotes in chat (which is a reportable offensive, along with spamming macros), then that means it's against the rules. "Whiny sensitive idiots" don't make the rules and cannot ban people. Grow up.

Gotta agree with this. This scenario has nothing to do with oversensitivity - it's a reportable offence for a reason. It's a Japanese MMO for gods sake, they are literally the opposite of 'safe space.'

I say report all the spammers, if they cry then they are the whiners. Maybe they should have thought about it since they can't say they didn't notice as they see themselves spamming chat. When emote spammers can make my Hunt Linkshell disappear in under a second during hunt calls, ya it's bad...
