"Final Fantasy XI-2" AKA: "Let's all flame each other because someone mentioned FFXI"

Survey aside.

I WOULD like to see a FFXI-2 game.

But not what you think.

It should be an offline single-player (maybe with optional 4-6 multiplayer) adventure set in Vana'diel. Make it a sequel, prequel, or side story. This would allow those FF fans who didn't want to play an MMO to experience the fantastic story and world and characters of FFXI, and it would also give vets a chance to revisit the game long after they quit. Since the assets are pre-exisisting, the game would require much less work to make than even FFX-2 or FFXIII-2 (at least for a portable system).

Eventually, after FFXIV has run it's course, they should give it an offline sequel as well.
