Today I go to check out the new deepshadow gear, The Deepshadow Boots of casting they have like 3-4 inch heels on them skinny heels at that! C'mon on Yoshi-San! I play a 200lb 6'4 Highlander how is he suppose to scrabble around cliffs and jump off of towers in those?! And what about his flat feet! Bad enough you got me in those robes but now these? Some times i feel like they deliberately emasculate Male casters.

Maybe there is some kind of Unspoken gender role distinction( I don't know what that means either don't look at me like that!) in FF I'm unaware of like only females and lalafels are casters and healers.

Yes I'm aware of glamour I just felt like making a stupid post.
The world is on the brink of destruction, yes, but it's not a barren wasteland where we are operating in the MSQ. Also this all depends on how you view 'apocalypse'. I mean we can do this madmax style, but then the whole look and feel of Norvrandt would be different. Rather you have a mixture of different styles all bumping up against each other. From a more medieval look in Lakeland, to more gothic/viking styles of Il Mheg, Art Deco in the Tempest, Eulmore is like a wierd French Aristocracy kind of deal. Its a bunch of different styles all butting heads in a tiny landmass surrounded by white death.

So it makes sense to have some of the fashion in context of the place. If it was more max max style with grungy gear and what not, that wouldnt deliver the idea of all these different groups butting heads in this tiny landmass.

As a point of all this - Heels were worn by French Nobility during the time of King Louis XIV I think it was. Outside teh functional aspect for horseback riding (helped grip the stirrups IIRC), from a fashion sense it made men taller and flexed a person's calves, which was considered attractive.

It all makes sense, its just different than what's to be assumed.
