A reminder, of the full audio for GNB that was released. This is what we had, a harder hitting blade and better keen edge combo for everything.

Clearly every hit of Continuation should play a clip of Bart Simpson telling our opponents to eat his shorts.
Ya know, I realized a detail I think was the main point of why I loved the old sounds. Yoshi-P said he'd make it feel like the classic FF8 trigger pull, so you'd use a skill and then pull the trigger for the intense blow up effect. The original way we had continuation worked that way.
The GCD was just a regular hit, but the continuation portion of it was like the "BOOM" of it. It followed the idea of the renzokuken combo by being a combo in itself.. but it also followed the basic attack from FF8 where you could feel the slash followed up with a hard hit. The old sounds separated those nicely, so you could appreciate the slashes then WAM right into the ability. New ones are all nothing but "WAM's" except... because of that, it's all just not satisfying, it'd be like if you pulled the trigger every mili second, it gets old and rusty... you don't sense the portions of it that feel satisfying anymore.
Also I sent in another in-game suggestion showing them this thread and the poll itself. So... here's to hoping ya know?
Honestly I wasn't much of a fan of the original sound effects. I thought that the weapon sounded too much like a sword, and not enough like a gun. It should be a hybrid weapon after all, right? So when I heard that the sound effects were being changed, I was pretty pleased (I was away on vacation when they were added). But after hearing them? Now, the weapon doesn't sound like a sword OR a gun. It sounds more like smacking something with a blunt object. So sure, I'll vote for the lesser evil to get the original sounds back.
Not bothered in the slightest tbh.

Another reminder to submit suggestions IN GAME(support desk in settings, > contact us, submit suggestion), linking this thread, poll, or just your general opinion for the sounds. Personally, I don't want this to get to the point where they just leave it in obscurity like the DRK's original lil effect for being in darkside. No, this isn't a change that's as insignificant as that, this is something that was changed on the fly both without warning or good reasoning. Not only that but it's still atrocious even after all this time with it. Every time I look back to the original sounds in the trailer, I have to ask why they decided to remove the trigger pulls, the hard unique slashes, the fluid feel of it, everything. I'm not going to accept that in an expansion from now, they're going to base the new skills the job gets OFF OF WHAT THEY ARE NOW. I dunno about anyone else, but I don't want more skills(or even the ones we have now) to go "Thwack".

This hands down was my favorite class to play, not just from an aesthetics/moves standpoint but because it FELT SO GOOD to play. This was in large part due to the satisfying slashing effects the synced up perfectly with each hit in the 1-2-3 combo. Now I absolutely hate it, Like mentioned earlier the feel of the class largely comes down the audio an its timing alongside hits. They seem to take alot of good shit away from tanks. Like moves from enmity combos. I get they wanted to streamline tanks but they took some of the coolest looking moves away from tanks. Like Pally rages of halone/savage blade combo, warriors butchers block combo. dark knight got screwed the worst imo opinons. it felt awesome to play in heaveanward, then they took away powerslash,spinning slash, old school delirium and scourge, which were amazing looking and feeling but of course they had to strip all the cool shit.
They could atleast make ability glamours.
