I hope you do realize you won’t even be able to see an empty slot available without this RNG timer. The plot will be only available to those with excess Gil’s. The timer at least gave new player a chanceI brought that up before in this thread.
There's also a reason why my forum sig is what it is. The plot timer really does need to be removed.
At least you're seeing a plot become available on the ward maps. Even with transfers it still leaves an empty plot somewhere else. You remove timers and it will be just as it was before. All wards will be at a stand still. You'll be right back here complaining that there is nothing to purchase and when you do find something available it's snatched up by the time you get there. The house you tried to buy and couldn't sits for months unused by it's current owner or goes up in PF for sale at an inflated price. Removing timers is not the answer either. SE needs to fix the loop holes for the one house/fc per account and crack down on the bots.I brought that up before in this thread.

I agree with all of you that have chimed in on this thread. I've decided to add my thoughts (in case SQE is reading these and someone over at SQ HQ will create an enhancement ticket to remove the plot timers - the invisible ones. I'd much rather know in the next X hours - X plot in X ward will become available. I can go there, click the board and behind the scenes it acts like a loot roll in a dungeon - or something like that. If you already own a house as a private individual or FC, then you need to fill out a transfer form, if one becomes available in your desired area, then the demolition process begins on your current plot and you join the rest of us clicking on a placard to get the available plot. Being able to swoop in and relocate and beat the timer isn't effective. It's frustrating to those that have camped there for X number of hours only to have someone swoop in a take it out from under you, because they can. It doesn't do anything for morale and only encourages people to be asshats. I understand why they were put in, but they're clearly not working.
Telling you I spent the last 5 days camped for 3-4 hours + at several different plots only to blink and they're no longer available because someone else had a quicker trigger finger than me,won't matter because you've all experienced it or you wouldn't have started this forum thread. Someone, else might read this and think - that's irrational behavior, why get frustrated, it's only a game. I've told myself that for the last 5 days "I don't need to do it, I could do other things in game". "I've been playing for the last 5 years, so what if I don't have a house" etc, etc....and yet I keep trying...so please SE if you plan on having another residential district in the 5.+ SB expac, please please do away with these timers and come up with a better system.signed....Frustrated in Eorzea
There is no loop hole the temp restriction is what you are thinking of, those restrictions were lifted close to a year ago. Current rules are 1 personal house,1 fc house per character which comes out to 8 personal houses and 8 fc houses on a wold. Being as you can make a total of 8 characters on a world. The temp restrictions actual application on FC houses was a confusing mess I have no desire to ever explain again. But it needs to understood clearly that a FC house does not belong to the FC leader..At least you're seeing a plot become available on the ward maps. Sorry, but you're not quite right there. They did remove the temporary restriction for FC houses after only about a week or so, but the limit of a single personal house/world is still in effect.
So you can have 1 personal and 8 FC houses per world. It doesn't help that their housing minisite has never been updated to reflect this.
Thanks for point out my mistake. Posted late last night while tired..bad move on my part.Sorry, but you're not quite right there. They did remove the temporary restriction for FC houses after only about a week or so, but the limit of a single personal house/world is still in effect.

Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
