COMPLAINT: Can't progress level 79 story quest until level 80 role quest complete?

So you would prefer if they set the quest requirement to level 80 one step sooner(as Iscah said, the next quest requires level 80), and if they didnt let you pick up the quest until you already had the second requirement met. I can understand that. Personally, i didnt mind it the way it was. If i had known i would have to stop at the end of the quest for a side trek then it may have caused me to prioritize an extra roulette or two to get the level i needed before i got there, but not knowing what was coming kept me more in the moment. I got to the forge only to realize that i dont have the item i need to inspire not-gerolt back to work, so i need to go out and find it. Honestly, they could put the quest break right there when you meet him and he doesnt have the work finished. Then to go further, you go find his inspiration and come back to continue(or just, you know, continue if you already had it like you would now).

And i wont spoil anything, but these particular side quests are plot relevant. So i didn't mind the requirement. Besides, doing your class quests to get the armor set(and extra skills) was always basically required in previous expansions too, so this version of it was fine for me too.

They should have divided the quest in two so when you get to him, you complete the current one and then you talk to him again to start the next msq if you had gotten level 80 and level 80 role quest. Unfortunately, I already did the roulette for the day so I'm stuck waiting for reset to actually get up to level 80. Tbh tho, I do not think this next leveling roulette is going to push me up this time, 8 mil is quite a substantial amount to go and I don't leveling gives you that much exp. And the other roulettes give even less.

If you only need 8 mil, just run Mt. Gulg one more time. No need to even do roulettes, as that dungeon should give you enough EXP to level up. Then you can complete your level 80 role quest, return to The Tempest, and turn in the level 79 quest. Make sure you speak with Totally-Not-Gerolt again, as he will furnish you with your level 80 artifact gear for whichever job you are playing completely for free.

Either way, you were going to get level locked after this quest, as the next four MSQ are level 80. Better to get the level lock out of the way sooner rather than after, in my opinion.

As i said, they don't give that much exp to be worth it, why waste my time? I'm better off just waiting for the next day anyway, so I just went to bed lol.

If I recall, a run of Mt. Gulg at level 79 nets over 10 million EXP. It’s been a while since I’ve done it on a 79 job as I haven’t been leveling, but it gives a fairly substantial amount—especially if you have FC buffs and food on. It’s certainly not “that much exp to be worth it”.

If you only need 8 mil, just run Mt. Gulg one more time. No need to even do roulettes, as that dungeon should give you enough EXP to level up. Then you can complete your level 80 role quest, return to The Tempest, and turn in the level 79 quest. Neither Mt. Gulg or the level 80 healer role quest are hard. Having healed Mt. Gulg before on two healers (WHM and AST) and done the 80 role quest, you’re worrying for no reason. By all means, wait for Roulette reset, but I still think it would be better to just do Mt. Gulg. You risk getting it in Leveling Roulette tomorrow anyways if you’re level 79, and that will be a substantial waste of Roulette experience in the event you have other jobs you want to also level.

It’s irritating to see people brushing off the advice of others simply due to stubbornness. By all means, you do you, but just know that your Leveling Roulette could give you Mt. Gulg tomorrow anyways. Such is the way of a roulette.

As for leveling DPS, that’s also not hard. DNC has a very easy learning curve, as it’s mostly using your dances on cooldown, doing a 1-2 combo, and reacting to procs. DPS generally have it the easiest in most casual content—far more easier than tanks or healers, who tend to be shouldered with the majority of the responsibility and the first to blame when things start heading south. However, if you’re going to remain afraid of trying new things, well, no one can convince you otherwise. I think you shouldn’t be afraid as none of this is nearly as hard or scary as you’re making it out to be, but that is just my opinion.

Nevermind, you obviously don't get it, so whatever. And yes I just got Mt. Gulg again and people died again and ugh, I really hate doing that dungeon, its so hard to heal in there.

Anyway, yeah, I try to make people understand how hard it is for me, but no one gets it, I dont understand what Im not getting across or not here, but whatever. I give up trying to convince people. I'm tired of explaining over and over why its so hard and why advice I try to put into practice just never works for me. I did the same with RDM, I even posted a video, tried peoples advice, and just never got better after trying and tryign and trying and trying. Its not that I dont take advice, I get frustrated because people like you don't get it and I dont know any other way how to explain to you that IT IS VERY HARD. I get that its not hard for you, but thats not the case for everyone. Im horrible with dpsing, so no Im not going to risk fucking it up for 3 or 8 other people with trying to learn dance, no matter how much I want to try the class out. Its hard enough for me to heal, but at least im comfortable with it except when tanks want to pull wall to wall. I would rather do small pulls, I can handle that lel.

Anyway, tired of ranting, I doubt the devs will see this complaint, but I had to post it anyway. It still stupid and the quest should have been 80 to begin with.
