Honestly after doing all 4 and the 5th hidden one, they shouldnt have been forced into the msq. the only reason why they are used is just to get the 430 set for your job and a few lines from ardbert. thats it. they literally dont matter to the story. they are just there to spice up the lore behind the first.

I'd rather have that quest sitting in the journal waiting for a level up than not being able to accept the quest, and having to figure out where I need to go when I do finally level up.

They might not matter to the story, but they matter to people getting an ilvl430-set before heading into the last dungeon and trial.

One reason why Shinryu NM was so difficult on release was that people queued up for it without having done their jobquests, so they didnt have their last skill our their gear. I recall getting paired up with one WHM who claimed that their level 70 skill was garbage and that they didnt need the gear. They died constantly and we wiped several times untile we removed said WHM, got another healer in and cleared it.
They wanted to avoid a situation in which people would enter the last part of the mainstory without their jobset but still tie the jobsets to the job (or role) quests. They dont want you to continue without the ilvl430 gear because that would burden 3-7 other people.

I do think the final role quest could have been at Lv78/79 so we could be done with it before we ventured to Mt Gulg and the really tense end of the story. We'd still have to wait until we got to the Tempedt to claim the improved armour.

When they said the quests would be tied to the MSQ, I had hoped that meant they would be better integrated into the pacing of it as well.

Im horrible with dpsing, so no Im not going to risk fucking it up for 3 or 8 other people with trying to learn dance, no matter how much I want to try the class out.
I understand that you might be done looking at this thread, but i did want to just offer a little encouragement. Sure, i dont completely understand when you say how hard it is(DPSing is easy for me, i do not at all understand the healing mindset so what you think is hard about healing would be like me trying to learn martian braille with my feet). But i do get that i dont get it. And there is one more thing to consider if you do decide to try dancing. Because there is redundancy at the DPS position(1/3/14 other people doing it with you) any one person being below average is harder to notice and, more importantly, drags down the group less. As a dancer just hitting your buffs - even if your "rotation" was completely off - would still put you above some people ive seen. And no one is saying that someone learning needs to jump in the deep end. Some low level fates with a chocobo, maybe a squadron mission or two. No need to put yourself out there until youve had a chance to feel a little comfortable(if you ever get there). Just something to think about.
