    It derails from the Overall Intended Focus: The Topic of this Thread.
    Then this idle Chit-chat artificially inflates the Thread, so when you get those people who will get all excited that this thread has so many pages, they won't know that a portion of these pages has nothing to do with the Topic. Devaluing the thread.

    But of course this doesn't harm anybody. And nobody can stop you :P
