Oh yeah, the limited crap needs to be sorted out, there needs to be information on the hairs in the mog station as well as character creation. The CC needs to be updated to note the 'limitation'. In fact, I'm pretty sure that has to be done due to false advertising shenanigans.

There's always the extra columns found in the datamine correct? unless those have been taken out I'd say there's at least evidence they're fiddling around with the character creation. They even mentioned adding stubble to the Hyur model being more difficult than they thought, and there are several new face presets in shadowbringers.

So who really knows how what will pan out, I think having a bit of reasonable hope is good, they might just make equal unique hairstyles for viera and hrothgar as the other races after all. There's no need to label them as being offensively limited, I might just be being an optimist however.

I'll stay mildly optimistic, because I like viera so much, I won't switch off of her, at least not for now. My alt is probably going to go back to her roots and become an elezen again though, instead of two viera. At the very least I'll have one character that isn't limited.

If they ever do come out with male viera hopefully they actually put more options for them at release, I think it would look bad to do this twice.

I didn't really expect anything new about the genderlock situation but the hairstyle decision is the wrong move tbh. There's just so much wrong with the limitations placed on the new races, I hope they reconsider. Also unless I missed a question, they didn't acknowledge the Hrothgar hair requiring a fantasia situation, which means that unless that's changed even if they do add more Hrothgar-specific hairstyles they'll have to pay money to access them. Edit: People are saying on other threads that he didn't say they wouldn't implement the old hairstyles? It seemed very clearly worded to me that any additional hairstyles would be race-specific thus the "there won’t be as many selections when compared to other races" comment idk.

I believe once they make these new hairstyles and possible new faces this will be addressed, if not even sooner.
I have faith that Yoshi and the Team are discussing this, wouldn't make sense to charge players $10 to change hair on the Hrothgar or Viera. Especally because they planned on making them Exclusive Styles.

At this point as long as the hairs looked nice I wouldn’t care I just want my bunny men, but over time seeing new hairstyles and stuff that I’ve paid for would get annoying and I would never be able to use them. We can try ranting but they are already set on just adding limited hairstyles for them.

Just a Friendly reminder that Viera and Miqote are 2 different races with 2 different Lores.
Though some similarities exist, they are 2 different things.
Plus Viera existed WAY longer then Miqote. So if there is a lore reason, Viera would be the only race that it would be acceptable for.

But hey, before anybody attacks me, Im not against Male Viera existing as a Playable Race in XIV. I just personally believe there needs to be a good written reason in Lore.

I find it unusual that it seems like adding new hairstyles from scratch is easier than adapting the older ones. I have no idea what male Viera hairstyles would look like in the end but I'd like the choice between wilder/more civilized hairs, like female Viera do.

Not only that (and didnt they say something else a while ago? That we will get older ones but not all?) but that also means that we might see less hairstyles for everyone..I mean we already get less and less of them, and now if they have to do new ones for Viera and Hrothgar and on top of that new ones for the other races too...I dont like this..

Also SE you could at least give us the paid ones or those from events..nice way to show those that give you more money that they wont be able to use that anymore...

That's like saying they should make changes to popular anime or other games, due to their western audience. They don't. The only section of our culture that is ever monitored really, is Nintendo of America censoring and redoing things to fit western culture. But again, they are a western company, the home company gives no hoots, no matter who purchases/uses the products.
