Even at it's worst WHM was still being played a healthy amount, look at those AST numbers "Deal with it", isn't it.https://www.fflogs.com/zone/statistics/17#class=Any

Barely two weeks into the tier and there are more recorded total healers than Alphascape over its entire non-echo existence. Slightly more than Deltascape.
Editing every time frame I can changes the numbers only when doing so by limiting to the 4.4 patch - which notes a significant decrease, but also makes sense - There's significantly less people who do the content on release and significantly less people who can run the content more than once per week.I’m fairly certain those are over a two week period—meaning parses for just those two weeks, not the lifetime of the tier.
It is worth noting the huge discrepancy in AST compared to both 2 weeks in Delta, 2 in Alpha, and then 1 Week in Eden. Just shy of 6,000 ASTs compared to the 13,000 in your Delta link and the 11,000 in the Alpha one. Compare the relatively closer distribution of the three over the links to the previous tiers to Eden, where there is a huge discrepancy between WHM/SCH and AST.
I have no reason to disbelieve that the log numbers are unreliable, but even if we do snapshot only two weeks of Alpha/Sigma/Delta, this one week + 1 one day of Eden far outstrips both of them.
"Healer numbers declining" is misinformation at best and an outright lie at worst.
As far as Astro's numbers, there's probably multiple factors there. Make your own conclusions, I'm just providing information, but I will edit the prior post as I cannot be certain of the log numbers in comparison to the contents full duration of the tier.
I’m changing the criteria from Over a Range of 2 Weeks to Over a Range of 1 Week. It actively slices the parses in half. The period is from 2 weeks (or 1 week), not the lifetime of the tier (roughly 6 1/2 months). Going back into my old logs from Deltascape confirmed that WHMs had rankings possible out of over 23,000 from an O1S kill on Dec 12, 2017. That’s already more than the numbers quoted for overall WHM logs on All Bosses in your link (little over 16,000). Note that Sigmascape released on January 31, 2018, so my final kill of Alte Roite was a month and a half before Sigma dropped.Editing every time frame I can changes the numbers only when doing so by limiting to the 4.4 patch - which notes a significant decrease, but also makes sense - There's significantly less people who do the content on release and significantly less people who can run the content more than once per week.

Comparatively, for a different view, my final BRD kill of O1S (same date) was against a little over 18,500 logs for just that boss compared to the ~15,800 for All Bosses in your link.
Also of note, comparing the last two weeks of old tiers to the first week + 1 day of a brand new one is going to yield you skewed numbers. More people are doing it when the content is fresh—less when the content is about to become irrelevant because they already farmed it to death by this point. Not to mention, the playerbase is also larger than it was back in Deltascape (and certainly during Alphascape, because I know quite a few raiders that just unsubbed and didn’t even participate in the tier), so we also have to account for that.
So you cannot say this with any accuracy. You’re compare the lowest point of Omega to the highest point of Eden. It’s a skewed comparison.
Given the data you provided, I don’t know how you can confirm nor deny this based off of that data alone. The data you presented isn’t accurate for the lifetime of a tier."Healer numbers declining" is misinformation at best and an outright lie at worst.
Regarding the last comment, since The Website That Shall Not Be Named now only filters by rDPS, padding isn’t going to be that prevalent, so the Personal Number Battery argument sort of falls apart. However, I do agree with disliking the card changes—not a fan myself, and I probably won’t play AST much if at all because of it. Two things drew me to the job: the animations and the card system. As pretty as the former is, the complete rework of the latter is too huge a turn off.literally came here for this. "Oh sorry people complained about how hard cards were and there were 'bad cards' so we decided to gut entire lore and gameplay for players regarding AST. Sorry not sorry" And CERTAIN youtube content creators backing it up because they personally only care about their dps numbers and want a personal number battery in every Savage Extreme Ultimate etc round, disregarding entire healer communities who enjoyed their healer for years as was.

Healer participation is also a tougher metric to garner that savage parse count. That's a part of it, certainly, but remember that the portion of the community that runs savage is not a representative sample of the entire playerbase, and a parse count is a "what" without a "why". Is random person X healing savage because the job inspired them, or because they feel obligated, or some other reason? Are people logging in and doing expert roulette on healers because it's their favorite iteration of their job, or because the queue times are faster (and they switch to a different job afterward)? How much time per week do people spend proportionally on each role? Etc.
There's a lot of data that could be interesting, the problem is that basically no entity is gathering it. I don't know if SE has stated it outright, but I've long suspected the only metric they use as a barometer is participation. It fits with nearly all of their weirder design decisions.
Going back and checking over from different angles, I can safely conclude that you are correct and we can make no determination regarding healer numbers one way or another.
I've checked statistics, I've checked individuals. As that shows kills ranked against total parses, the numbers of which do not match up in Eden. Since it is not 2 weeks out yet, that should mean that any player with a kill should have the total logs displayed there, and it should equal the total kill logs for that job. But it doesn't.
So in short, even when appealing directly to data, we cannot say healer numbers are up, down, left, right, or sideways.
As you said, we cannot confirm, nor deny.
I can confirm they are down. My queue times are instant and healer in need is always present.
I dont get it, I read the question and answer myself. And honestly it's the exact same thing I've seen echoed about in these forums.
Just says to me that they don’t care.
They don't. They made that very clear in the live letter. They are not planning on spending any time or resources on healers, so if you're playing one have fun with your bland roles and expect more watering down and the disappointment of no healer in 6.0, but you can be sure that they will try to keep that glimmer of hope in you for as long as they can before they crush it utterly.
"Then what is magic for?" Prince Lir demanded wildly. "What use is wizardry if it cannot save a unicorn?"
Schmendrick did not turn his head. With a touch of sad mockery in his voice, he said, "That's what heroes are for."
