Does SE have an official stance on this? I havnt seen anything after looking around.

Yes, they do. It's considered Obstruction of Play.

Report them, let Square sort them out.

Per SE, "playstyle differences" is a valid reason to kick someone from a group. At least half of the group thought you were a problem, so off you went.
