A form of instanced housing which is on par with houses in districts/wards in terms of utility and aesthetics, to serve as a starter house to welcome everyone.

I wouldn't consider anything else as a solution to be honest. As much as Yoshi Pizza seemed humble during the press conference when ARR was launched, the man tends to double down on everything he does. They've already state that they cannot keep adding more until the "demand" is met and considering how there's hundreds if not thousands of plots available on the Japanese data center, I don't see him changing that anytime soon. Then there's instance housing which should have came out during patch 2.38, but obviously that didn't happen. The odds of having them release something alike while keeping the wards up with the ridiculously high amount of plots on every server at this point would be embarrassing.
Same concept when it comes to upgrading apartments. Other than the garden, an apartment is the biggest half of a small house.... for 15% of the cost on top of being permanent. That's an insanely good deal. I'm not against the concept, but they would have to bonify houses.
I like how this is basically copy-pasted from the site but without the digs at people who were criticizing y'all.
how about not using an ongoing crisis that is still affects a lot of people in real life to make a point?
regardless of what you're trying to point out, you're still robbing a potential 20+ free companies the chance to get a house, and don't try to 'whataboutism' me with 'what about all the unused plots people have?' because that's not what we're talking about here.
edit: as an aside don't act like singular entities or small groups claiming entire wards isn't an issue, because this is a problem on multiple servers (at least 4 that I'm aware of which ends up being a total of at least 100 houses that I personally know of), which just ends up compounding the issue.

While not every FC will feel a strong need for a house, assuming ANY Free Company doesn't WANT a house is asinine.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?

This isn't a FAQ my lala. The FAQ did contain this answer as it's something that you know, I get asked a lot.
Why shouldn't I use Flint as an example? Real estate value has dropped significantly and the same happened in Eorzea, learn how to manage your emotions.
I love how you automatically ignore the major issue regarding unused houses. If those 20+ free companies, you claim I am robbing, end up leaving the game after purchasing it, obviously it makes the whole situation better.
People like you cannot be taken seriously when you throw any logical thoughts out the window in favor of emotional beliefs.
By the same logic, every player out there totally wants a house. It's not like nobody has ever came in here to state that they don't care whatsoever about housing. It truly never happened in the 6 years this game's been out. Never. I swear.![]()
i didn't ask if this was a faq, and your provided faq is useless to me and only serves to try and justify why you're doing this. check your holier-than-thou condescension at the door, please.
an ongoing crisis involving tainted water that affects the health and well-being of an entire city (thus causing the houses to drop in value and making them illegal to even sell) =/= artificial scarcity being taken over by singular groups. it's literally not even close to the same thing and the fact that you keep using that as reasoning is absolutely tasteless and offensive on your part, regardless of my emotions.
unused houses are an issue, but that's a 'whataboutism' because guess what, those are still singular houses owned by an fc/a solo player and not a concentrated takeover of multiple plots, as you (and several others) engage in. some are buying plots and not using them because they intend to relocate. it's a waste to decorate if they're planning that. and if you're complaining about unused plots, please feel free to share all the evidence you have for using all the ones you're holding, because you claim to be utilizing them but i see zero evidence outside of your statements.
if they leave the game, so what? the auto demolition will take care of that issue and those plots will reopen to people who will claim them. if they're camping the plot despite inactivity? well, better than one person doing the same with multiple plots. heck, the great thing about fcs: the other members, so if the owner/lead doesn't log in, someone else can take over the fc and plot! but hey, kudos to you for spending an inordinate amount of time and money holding onto that many plots i guess.
you can try and claim you're logical about this by spending time making charts and graphs (which only serve to add filler and faux logic to distract from your greed but go off) but there is no logic justifying one group or person taking over entire wards. i honestly hope the people you're trying to buy out in your ward never sell purely to spite you, because (and here's my emotions!) i sure as heck would.
anyway, thanks for providing an example of the tragedy of the commons for the playerbase i guess.
Illustrate it with what? I looked over the charts and graphs and they are nothing but filler built to seem logical and to make the OP seem like they know what they talk about. When in reality they are holding on to a large chunk of housing they don't use and probably never will just because they can. It is nothing more than a form of puffery and a flagrant show of wealth that deprives other players of potential housing in an already cutthroat market.
To top it off they have the audacity to blame SE and other players for this farce they are putting on.
And as for the OP. As a citizen of the West Michigan area I would appreciate it if you not compare an actual disaster borne of personal greed and terrible management to your own petty brand of greed. Not that I would expect any decorum from some one who wastes so much money on making other peoples housing excursions just a little bit harder.
I don't get it... Why the burj khalifa of text only to say: "we need more houses, stop grilling me for having what i have"?
Why the use of inflation when gil doesn't have a set value nor is there any other data to give it value outside of "buys certain things that other currencies don't buy"?
If you say so.
You didn't ask, you brought it up
I see you didn't even read as you clearly do not understand the context in which the prices changes were brought up. Not surprising.
It doesn't matter if those unused houses are owned by individual players or not. Ever heard of strength in numbers? You are absolving players who do nothing with their house until they relocate. Congratulation, you sunk your own ship. You want me to share evidence, come check out the houses for yourself. They're open for a reason.
Ah yes, great logic again. 24 people using a house once every 45 days vs a handful every other day.
There is logical reasoning behind acquiring these houses, you just can't even understand them. Regarding the neighbors, I honestly couldn't care less and have already talked about it.
Thanks for attempting to write something coherent I guess.
Filler? I dare you to come up with something comparable. Judging by the lack of facts in your post, I might have to wait for the next umbral calamity. I mean come on, you claim I do nothing with the houses. You could have at least shared one activity log from one of these FCs. But you can't.
I never said we needed more houses, read again.
