It's a shame you'd rather play a slot game than a healer job.
These improvements are perfect. AST is back.

I mean the selling point of the class was cards wasn't it? Theres usually RNG aspect with cards, that's a given. Plus it was fun.
And there's still just as much decision making involved with Cards. It's just the end result is different, and given that you didn't feel the effect of those cards, other players did, it's entirely flavour for the AST.
In other words, it might have 'felt' better before, differentiating between Crit or Speed, but it was all in your head.
Losing Ewer for more consistent Lucid Dreaming and Lightspeed, and Bole for an extra Shield on a 30s cooldown, are vastly superior utility.
Meanwhile all DPS jobs now get equal buffs in the form of consistent Balances. Making AST rDPS more consistent, without the horror of drawing several Spires in a row.

Sorry not playing a boring class, poorly developed class, with lazy changes. And there's still just as much decision making involved with Cards. It's just the end result is different, and given that you didn't feel the effect of those cards, other players did, it's entirely flavour for the AST.

Same decision making? Previously six cards had six different effects and now three cards give effect "A", and the other three cards give effect "B". Two seems a lot less then six so maybe I'm missing something but how is that "as much decision as before? Yes, I'm ignoring seals because it's the cards that are supposed to be what defines an astrologian. And there's still just as much decision making involved with Cards. AST is NOT back. They basically nerfed Noct to the point of it not being worth it; the cards are still shit; healing potency is still questionable (we'll see); DPS potency has been barely upped; our self-support skills still not there; our stun still a heal, blahblahblah.
They might as well just get rid of healers in general at this point. Make the game more like Blade & Soul with every class being DPS with a hint of healing (RDM & DNC anyone?). I'm just... I'm so fed up with the healer BS, it's not even funny.

It wasn't buffed by much, but there's been zero nerfs.
Unless you mean back in 5.0, then yeah it was nerfed then.
Helios' barriers have been decreased by 125%. That's a pretty big percentage. The barriers in general have all decreased (CO being by 25%, but that's not as steep as 125%). That's a pretty big nerf, unless I'm not understanding the percentages in comparison to the non-percentage.

I won't be coming back to FFXIV's forums. The forum vibe is way too venomous and brings out the worst in me. I don't like who I am on the forums, so it's best to distance myself.

You multiply those numbers together.
Mind not being so crytpic? They still nerfed it even if they did up the healing potency. Shields had already been nerfed, so why should they get nerfed again when the healing potency was shit to start with? Just up the healing potency, no need to reduce shields. Otherwise, you might as well just heal after instead of use shields before?
