Nin's been under the radar since its release. And is mainly responsible for the notion that "dps utiliy jobs are a must in any party"
It's no surprise we ended here. That's why I was annoyed to see nin keep the TA after they announced they wanted to make it so no jobs would have a guaranteed spot in every party. Because this result is what I feared

The problem with a skill as powerful as the trick attack is, which playerbase are you using as a reference to tune it? before ShB it seems like they used to tune it to an average party's dps. Thing is, by doing that the really good teams would get an insane benefit from the TA. But people used the results of these party to decide what was the almighty meta, without considering that you need 7 other players with solid skills to get that much benefit from the support job and that with a derping party there isn't much a nin could bring over another player with decent skill playing another job instead.

Now, to shatter that concept, it seem they tuned the nin and every jobs with support with the best teams in mind. Making their personnal dps so low that only if the 7 other people in your party are pulling up their weight then nin dps+utility make it on par with other melee dps. Thing is, with most PUG parties that won't be the case, and since nin is tuned for 8 player, any 4 man content instantly weaken it.

I'd much rather have less utility for the party but not have to rely that much on the other players in my party for my dps.
