I've found some issues as of late myself, this seems to happen only with the latest version of the game, I get some really weird input lag, for example if I use the right stick to rotate the camera from left to right in quick succession like left, right, left, right, left, right, etc., etc., the input stops for a second or so and the camera continues to move in that direction by itself until the game accepts inputs again, it's happened for two days now and only with this game.

I will continue to test with other games or programs and see what's going on!...

    What’s Steam?

Oh... that’s the hot mess I was forced to install ti get access to my offline copy if Skyrim SE.

Weird though... the title refers to gamepads. I was prepared to post about my Razer Orbweaver, which has a hot mess if a cloud driver, and how I am looking forward to the new gamepad coming a Japanese company that worked together with SE...

But instead I got abthread about using controllers why putting ateam in between your PC and the game’s server because added lag is somehow desired....

Believe me, I'd have XIV separate from Steam if I could. Unfortunately I bought the game through steam once back in 2014, before I knew the problems that came with that decision, and now my account is perma-locked to Steam.

check your settings because nothing changed. You can increase the camera speed in the character settings

My findings so far are inconclusive, it doesn't seem to be the game, it might be Windows doing some weird stuff.

There's a program that can cause CPU spikes at times and might be related to excessive number of "handles", restarting the system seems to fix the issue for me!...

I had a similar problem, but it was my gamepad. The left analogic have a limited sensibility when I press diagonals (left-down and right-down).

Try to calibrate yours using the windows app for that (not the inside game calibration). Go to printers and... other devices (i guess) inside the Control Panel and pick the game controller configs. There, you can choose to calibrate it.

There is a square form that shows you the range of each direction for your left analogic stick. If it doesn't reach the corners, then it's a gamepad problem, not game or system or steam. If it's the case, you can fix it by opening the gamepad and applying some machine oil or dust removing oil (there are some tutorials about how to do it on youtube).

If it's not the case, then I suggest you to not configure your gamepad through steam (just remove all settings for all buttons). Some games bugs when you try to use a steam configured gamepad (i've discovered that when I played Monster Hunter World with a steam configured gamepad. Was a big mess!).

I hope this fix the problem!

PS: in my case, I had to abandon my gamepad since the problem wasn't solved by oil. The mechanical parts came with the issue from creation (and I lost the warranty by opening it). Nowadays, I use my keyboard and mouse. It's not the same sensation, but we have to do our part to keep playing, right? :P

yeah, sorry. i meant Stormblood. i have the 3dvd installation copy from a previous release. well... i don't know what the issue is. but it is acting the same regardless of what controller is being used. that is 2 xbox one controllers, a 360 controller, a dualshock 3 & 4 and a couple other random controllers. and the camera speed for gamepad is set to 100.

*sigh* i guess someone out there just doesn't like me using gamepad with this game. no clue why SE changed something here, and even less clue why only seems to only impact me.

the biggest issue i am having is just that diagonal movement is slower than vertical & horizontal movement. like if i am on the map, moving from corner-to-corner is slower than side-to-side. this is creating huge inconsistencies in camera movement. making the camera feel almost like it is snappy. is not snapping, just the speed differs so much it will feel like it. this is the most annoying thing ever. i don't understand how anyone will get used to it.

well... the best i could do is use anti-dead zone in STEAM to counter the whacked dead zones SE set. and use an aggressive input curve for the camera while lowering in-game speed. this helps out, but it is nothing as close to as good as it was before the release of Shadowbringers. i hope they someday fix this, but again... i don't believe in unicorns.

    This is so strange... '-'
And why is it only affecting you?

I feel inclined to believe that is something in configuration. Like, if you lock target, you'll always move slower when you walk away from it and you have to deselect target to move faster. Surely your issue is not as dumb to solve as in this example, but...

Try different configurations. It seems like something is awkawardly set up.

Well now this is another story already if it is the same with different controllers. You could try to make a video with the issue, and with this video write to the Support with describing the situation also mentioning your settings for gamepad. Either it is something in your Windows (it's not very likely though, considering you said it works fine in other games) or there is some kind of bug in FF14. Maybe some files are broken or something else like this.

take what Halivel said and, if you want, uninstall the game and install it again. Maybe something patched wrongly during the update...? (this is so bizarre)... '-'
