Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

Best part of this thread, has tons of upvotes, but most of the posts are from the same dozen or so people in it. So if added, would probably be due to upvotes since the vocal ones would honestly, if I were a developer, make me cringe and simply step away from it entirely.

The posts dont matter, its the likes that do. I shoudl remidn you that we got female viera due to a thred with 400 likes, and they though ti was worldwide bgi demand. This thread has more than 4 times that.

You are deluding yourself if you believe we got Viera because of that one thread. People were asking for Viera EVERYWHERE. 400 likes is a drop in the ocean of the playerbase.

*sigh* 400 likes is simply a way of showing support, I'll quote a previous post, but the devs themselves have stated that there is indeed massive demand, and that they didnt expect that. Also, ppl are askign for male viera everywhere too, in fact, in too many places I think. Go into any post on any social media and the most liked comment is male viera. Go to the questiosn thread and the most liked question is male viera. Go into any stream and everbody is spamming male viera for the majorit yof the stream. Go int oany thread slightly related to races and theres male viera being mentioned everywhere. Go into practically anything related to the game and its features, and youll find a lot of ppl asking and debating abotu male viera. If that dosent mean high demand to oyu, I honestly think thats just denying facts

Female viera is indeed really good^^ I think that on 6.0 they'll use male viera female viera male hrot female hrot, all getting updates/added as a main selling point for the expac. I wouldnt expect to see headgear before then, but I think its super likely on 6.0

I played miqo'te again for about a week and a half, but it was just off. I had grown to like the viera more than I thought I did originally. I do love a couple of their hairstyles, the big ponytail (I love it!) and the shoulder swept style, but I like a lot of other hairstyles that other races have access to. I really hope they add the hairstyles that you need to earn or pay for at least.

I would hope for updates to our current races before 6.0 though, I don't see any reason to halt updates to what we have already, that would be like 2 years of the same stuff. Both viera and hrothgar sorely need these updates. I think hrothgar players need them more, because they are even more limited, but updates will probably be coupled together. I know I will probably end up switching back to miqo'te or au ra by probably next month though, and them being so limited plays a huge part in it. If they weren't limited they would be near perfect for me.

I don't know what people are supporting cause I didn't upvote anything. It isn't necessarily true, it could just be a very vocal minority. I don't think spamming "male viera" in random livestreams would help that cause either.

Look at likes, its simply the msot liked thread ever on any forums related to the game, plus its everywhere. Unless the same 20 ppl made hundreds of accounts everywhere to spam male viera, It makes no sense imo to deny its high demand. You might think we might not egt them because '(inster x reason here)' but there isnt any denying theres a massive demand for it, in fact, many would go as far as saying it has the biggest amount of support for any feature in the game, same for female hrotgar though at a slightly smaller scale (2nd most liked thread on forum, and also decently talked about)

It isn't necessarily true that all those likes are demand for male viera. I'd be willing to bet a large portion of those are just for it in general, against genderlocks, or generally couldn't care less (threw a like just cause). i think I liked this thread specifically, but I can't remember. I didn't like it because I wanted male viera, just that I was in support of it for the people who wanted it.

Well, the difference is we have female viera/ male hrothgar and they are extremely limited; unfinished. I think if they are going to add something they need to finish it. These 2 races are objectively unfinished when you compare them to all others in the game. Au Ra for example which was also added in an expansion. It would be a slap in the face to use hairstyles that you paid for/earned for in game (rounding out the race) as selling point for a new expansion. As a viera player I would definitely be insulted.

THIS statement is what I was calling into question- in particular "we got female viera due to a thread with 400 likes". No, we got Viera due to constant demand dating back many years- in far more than a singular thread with 400 likes. Stating we got Viera "due to that thread" is outright fallacy.

As for the post I originally quoted, I quoted it because I found it hilarious that they stated they were quitting until male Viera are added- yet their character thumbnail shows just how "hard" they stuck to their guns with their female Viera character. I found it amusing, so sue me ;P

I'm reluctant to read too much into the number of likes that this thread has. Especially when there were organised social media campaigns encouraging people to artificially inflate the numbers by leaving a like.

I think it's important to avoid giving in to bias and examine things on a logical basis.

There's clearly demand for their inclusion, though there's also a lot of opposing desires in regards to what they should look like if implemented.

Yoshi-P has also already made a statement on the matter and has ruled out child-like designs, though the original post has not been updated with that information in mind and as such can be considered to be out of date.
