Yeap, crappy players everywhere. Like in the feast, where the dps split up, get baited far away and then LoS themselves, and when they inevitably die, they spam "Nice job!" XD

Did pugs for all of HW/SB Ex/Savage runs without a static. It's very close.
See how that goes? This is a YMMV type of situation but you're choosing to ignore the fact that humans will human and some are just ass holes whether they PvE or PvP.
This isn't just a fact of gaming, it's a fact of life. All of "those" people aren't ass holes, just some in that group.
Replace "those" with whatever group of people you prefer and you can see how stupid that mindset is and how potentially dangerous it can be.
Gallus you are aware that the PvP community comes from the PvE community right? I walk around hitting mobs all day and then queue up for PvP.
So if the FF14 PvP community is toxic trash, that's because the FF14 PvE community is the worse and when they actually have to compete they lose their last damn braincell and don't know how to behave. You know what they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and in FF14's case...PvE community is the tree.
Be careful who you point fingers at.
PLEASE ADD A MUTE FUNCTION, and bring back chat while keeping the Quick Chat functions.
AND
Ya’ll sensitive players should grow a backbone and not care about what others think, most especially if the criticism isn’t constructive. XD
It's not about being "sensitive." I find it weird that some are placing the onus of changing their behavior on the non toxic group.
I mean, if you can't take the stress of work and snap at your coworkers, is your employer going to tell your coworkers to "grow a spine?" No, youre just going to be fired.
Similarly, I'm all for bringing chat back. Just make it a policy to permaban any pvp baby for toxic outbursts.
And no, y'all know there's more toxicity in more competitive areas of the game. Stop with the false equivocations.
I have to admit, as a very new player, I'd much prefer to have chat active than to try to figure out whether a bit of quick chat dialogue is meant as a friendly greeting or an "oh, not YOU again" bit of passive aggression.
I'm sure there will be folks saying terrible things, and it's easy enough to ignore people like that. But considering how often you see the same people in Feast, I'm sure someone would be inclined to give good advice if only because they'd like to win more than they lose.
The PVP forums and discord are good resources, but it's not quite the same as advice from someone who has just seen you make a fool of yourself and can tell you exactly where you're screwing up.
Don't play Scholar. You didn't ask, but I answered it anyway.
I've still yet to hear a solid argument against this simple suggestion;
Just make using chat a privilege that can be taken away.
Done. Toxic people get muted. Three strikes and muted for life. People who aren't dicks about it get to keep chat and presumably be helpful to their teammates. Bonus point; Since being a dick can result in losing access to chat, maybe people will be think twice before being a dick in chat, "I've been muted for 24 hours, maybe I'll curb my toxicity a bit", wishful thinking? Probably... Christ, this is the exact same system they use on these forums, which I'm likely about to incur for repeated use of the word "dick".
