"If you don't like it, quit" has been a favorite of the XIV forums since long before WoW refugees became our favorite boogiemen.
What's next, reducing the ability to flip markets and hoard goods at the expense of non-omnicrafters is the fault of "WoW popularists"?
A server IS a self-contained community. Just like a city is a community. Not everyone in the city is going to agree on everything, that doesn't mean it's not a community. A community can have smaller communities in it. Each server is its own community. Denying this does not change that it's true.
If you still don't understand this, there's nothing further to discuss in this regard.
Welcome to the free market and capitalism. They won't remove it, or change it.
For cerberus, at least for myself, using the marketboard to sell things has come to a full stop. What previously netted me 200k-300k every couple of days for a couple of hours work, now gets me less than 70k for the same amount of work. Hard to get materials that previously sold for 100k at least, now tend to be found at 40k or less.
Personally, I'm not bothering to sell anything anymore, why bother if the amount of work I put in isn't properly rewarded? Less than 70k for a couple hours of work isn't rewarding, it's insulting.
I have enough gil that I don't need anymore of it, and I won't need anymore for quite some time. I'm just off the market when it comes to providing the raw materials, which I used to provide quite a lot of.
Going to have to vote no to segregation. The debate on its merits and whether or not it works for the better of all have long been debunked decades. It was found ethically and morally wrong.
Sorry but people on other servers are no different then your server. You're going to be hardpressed to prove that picking a random name on a list of servers makes one vastly different especially considering many didn't even make a choice and simply picked the server the system allowed them to make a character on.
This is tribal mentality made manifest. To think another group of people is different and that combining groups will be a detriment is ridiculous. And the only difference is a server name.

I love crossword MB, I only need 3 to 6 mats not a fk#$g stack of 99 so I'll visit otherworld for that.
Segregation?! Might as well go all the way and invoke Godwin's Law. You really took this too far. No one is being discriminated against by removing cross world.Going to have to vote no to segregation. I'd rather keep it honestly. Even with all the Wanderer's turning Balmung's stereotypical, if false reputation into a reality I've still had a lot of fun seeing the server so full of life. It's nice to be able to play and play around with friends from other servers in a more organic way instead of having to wait until I'm in an instance with them to have any face to face contact.
About the only issue I have is Hunts. I do think a good compromise to this issue would be a five-ten minute invulnerability buff for all Hunts after they're spawned. That way the people who spawned them have ample time to find them, early pullers are out of luck, and the rest of the hunt community can come and take a shot as well. I'm not entirely sure about stopping Cross-World hunts entirely though because the early pullers are still going to be an issue on their own servers if that's the only bandaid fix that's applied.
I would rather say.
Free botting real estate and RMTalism
Cross server traveling makes it easy for RMT companies to ruin the game where they previously couldnt do on closed server... Now its not the cease anymore, they are the biggest beneficients of the change, they are making more gil than ever and your average player is struggling to make any because he cannot compete with army of rarely ever banned bots.
Wohoo, what a great feature and opportunities for those who are not omni-crafters, now they barely even could do any gil.

i totally agree with OP on this one. Wow maplestory, eso and usa's pay to win economy mode have no place in ff14. Sadly people come to the game and bring delusions( being the next rockefeller rothschild and morgans of the in game currency) from their previous mmo experience and make the FF14 trade market a living hell. I'm seeing stuff on the market boards that was 100k pre shb sky rocket to 2-3m gils and im talking MUNDANE items from either tome or random items from dungeons or trash drops. hell i've seen a vendor sword sell on excalibur sell for 10m gils and it was 300k 3 weeks ago.
MB should be for the OG server. At this rate we are going to end up with the wow auction house and that woudl litterally suck
my best example on the cross world market board
lvl 70 rakshasa chest of healing HQ on famfrit, was the lowest. i paid 250k for it, PRE SHADOWBRINGER...
3 days ago..... i checked the same item...1 million freaking gils... i asked around and most of the answers i got were all related on economy skyrocketting and inflation.......yeah.....1 million gils for a chest piece that is weaker than the tome bought gears of the same level. i then asked for a crafter how much he would charge to make the same item.... i ended up with a 130k bill
you can't solo rank S and A anymore as they are called out across the data center via 3rd party programs that are scanning the entire datacenter because it's impossible to have 3 to 7 players calling out a hunt at the same time, having seen S and A rank hunts being called out on an alliance raids on lamia server at xyz location by players from leviathan and ultros...
also when a rank a or s hunt is called it usually last a whole 3 seconds so you can't solo hunts or even world bosses are unreacheable as the "intstance of the map" is usually overcrowded when its called out.
i also get the weird feeling that if peopel keep complaining about overcrowding we will end up with a bigger problem related to servers and data centers....
