I used to be a huge let's play fan but since everyone went after the easy streaming money and turned into low tier effort let's plays I stopped watching them, anyway I have seen many no back seating let's players and usually they are very bad gamers in general.

There are trolls on the internet, everybody knows that, and you have to be prepared for it if you are going to stream. Yeah you can have rules, but rules being broken almost always happens, so you have to keep your cool, or the trolls win.

That being said, I don't think the OP is a troll, or a bad person. The streamer was struggling, and OP tried to give helpful advice, their heart was in the right place. And understandably the OP got mad when she dragged down the rest of her team with so many wipes. Especially if she was more preoccupied with the stream, than being a valuable member of the team.

I really don't know what twitch is other than the basic stuff but as to the reason people watch other gamers. It reminds me of when I was much younger and games were only in arcades. Folks would gather around to watch really good players playing defender or space invaders and of course pinball. It was entertainment or they learned new things. No other real reason. I suppose it's the same reasons.

In the same example there would always inevitably be that one dude who would backseat direct. Even more annoying then when they literately were breathing down your neck!

Yeah, because goddess forbid a streamer wanting to experience the game blind... The rules literally said that she didn't want backseat gaming, and then it is EXTREMELY rude to backseat game, especially if you just entered the channel. If you knew how common backseat gaming is as a streamer (I have even seen casuals trying to backseat speedrunners in some games, yeah...) you would understand why she was not happy with your helpful remark. She didn't even sound that rude tbh, she just pointed out that she didn't want help and that she wants to experience it first time without help, and even had it written as a rule.

Streamers arew a mixed bag, on one hand you have absolutely stellar players on the other people that literally paid to get their savage/ultimate clears. Not really any different than those who are just in-game.

It's one thing to want to experience something blind. It's another to spend over an hour failing. At some point, you can't throw a tantrum when someone gives advice. Stop defending bad.

Lol, the person who started this topic literally started backseating before they even had failed despite there even being a rule against backseating, stop defending toxic behavior, ok?

Sincere question, what’s the draw? Beyond watching a guide video for something you haven’t done before or didn’t understand.
I watch streamers because I like their commentary while playing. Sometimes it’s fun to see someone else’s reactions to gaming content that I enjoy myself. Sometimes it’s also to see a guide or something along those lines. It’s entertainment. Just like watching anything else.

    Offering advice is not toxic.
Offering advice is not "backseat gaming".

I know what the OP said. I also know that there are a lot of people in here defending bad behavior and bad play style.

    Take your own advice.

It is backseat gaming though, and OP is (from what they said, I don't know the tone of the voice at all, but by the words to judge) completely overblowing the streamer's reaction. If the streamer basically told them to F off, I would have been more implied to not defend the streamer in question here, but really from what the OP says, this is a normal reaction to an all too common problem on twitch, people who wants to be helpful when the rules even says they don't want help.
