Or they fat fingered it. I did that with a Rescue in the main scenario last night, so that might of been me. 880 instances - first time I ever fat-fingered a rescue.Last night I went into MSQ Rol on GNB, got Castrum. Its the usual fare and all that except during the third boss fight when one of the healers decided to rescue me for...I'm not sure why? Mighta been trolling, might have been trying to get me to fight adds even though the boss was going to die in about another 7 or so seconds, I dunno.
Its whatever and I wouldn't even have posted it here...except that about an hour later during another fight which I'm blanking on the exact paticulars of, I'm pretty sure it was Eden 1 on my DRK, a completely different healer also used Rescue on me again for no reason. No boss positioning for it, no mechanics that I needed to stack, or that would warrent a Rescue to avoid. Just...was. Just very strange to have it happen twice in an hour by two different people.
Welcome to why i just do the gear set method. you get so many slots for it its almost painful to remember that garbage button exists. gear sets on the other hand i put it on i save it and then push a button to switch to the class with its properly saved gear. infinately better
Working through the ShB MSQ, got the third dungeon last night. I'm playing WHM, queue in with my best friend who is DNC. Let people know that I'm new to the dungeon. After the first pull (which went fine), the tank drops. A mentor PLD came in for him and off we went.
That PLD was awesome, covering for me by tanking and healing when I proceeded to get myself killed on the first two bosses. Both people in the group were cool about it when I apologized, especially on the second boss when I walked *into* the bad stuff by accident. It feels pretty crappy screwing up already, having a bit of forgiveness from the other players helped a lot. Third boss went smoothly and we did it with no wipes.
Props to you, wherever you are.![]()

Stop me if you heard this before. just did the 63 as a red mage. friend on tank. white mage healer...she dies on the big pull outside second boss and the healer openly admits fault for one too many holy.
Cue me realizing AFTER SHE IS REVIVED BY THE HEALER that Verraise is 64, and i was mid dual cast when she died. I'm a 70 red mage. I have Verraise...
My Brain when I realized i could have just raised my friend and then ran with the mobs to prolong the chance for her to get them back.
Nobody's new at Bardham's mettle. Even if they used a skip, they need to be shown the door if they can't multipull by then.If you berate them into the ground, they’ll never improve either. Telling someone “this is your fault” after a wipe won’t help them improve. Harassing them over their gear won’t help them improve. Especially if this is a newer player or a newer/nervous healer.
Everyone learns differently and at different paces. I learned to handle large pulls on a healer fairly quickly. On the other hand, I’ve known healers that learned to handle them very slowly. It’s the same with tanking: I’m a nervous tank, but I learn to large pull gradually as my comfort level rises. Others just jump straight into it. You can’t always go balls-to-the-wall with stuff like this. And adjusting to what your party members can handle isn’t babying. It’s being a team player. Your “nope I only pull big” comment is just you refusing to adjust and work with your party. Nothing more, nothing less.
I’m all for people improving themselves, but if you think what you did will help this healer, I think you’re mistaken.
One half of this statement is wrong, and the other is exactly why so many people view gamers as terrible people.
It's a levelling dungeon, which is where people learn to play roles and jobs. Don't like that? Stay out of levelling roulette.

lawl I went splat pretty quick after popping HG and it wearing off. This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.
A dancer or gunbreaker could still be new at their jobs at that level.
I prefer multipulls myself. But if you're going to insist on them or votekick, form a premade. Pugs aren't always going to be up for that, be it from a lack of skill, gear, latency issues or some other cause.
Nobody is new but they might have stopped playing healer for awhile to level other classes. If they were already nervous about healing before a long break would just give them the added detriment of being rusty. Hell I haven't leveled my tanks in a good long while and I'm liable to be doing baby pulls for the first couple dungeons with each of them just to get used to the flow again - even with the added ease of keeping aggro these days. They also could have a disability that makes it harder for them to react. It hasn't happened in awhile but there was a stretch of time when my joints stiffened up in my hands and would shake just enough that reacting with any amount of speed was challenging. I could still heal but if the tank wanted to multi-pull in dungeons without having good gear or using cooldowns right it could sometimes be a struggle to move. I kept myself out of raids while that was happening but asking for some consideration during casual dungeon runs wasn't asking all that much and most people understood.
That isn't to say you shouldn't try to help people improve but taking the stance of 'you should be this good by now, get out if you aren't up to standard' absolutely helps no one.
