Agreed, I also prefer trinity MMOs and disliked a lot of the same stuff about TESO that you mentioned. I just don’t like its combat system and I had the same issue with GW2 as well. Tried TESO at launch as I was a TES fan and a few times since and I just can’t get into it. Also gone back to WoW once during Legion but I don’t like that much either anymore.

I was excited about SWTOR because you could play as a member of the Sith (much like I would with the Ascians if this game allowed for it...) If they did another MMO and got the formula right I’d be inclined to try it.

Well then it seems that we share some tastes even though I found that picture that Lauront posted already too much. I guess a nice muscle slider with that from Lauront as max and maybe the Elezen ones at min. would probably make a lot of people happy. d^^

If only it could be done cost effectively, it’d be a great feature.

Same here. I guess they thought the timing was more favourable to adding new races, though.

Agree. Who did EVER asked for Hrothgar? No one. We asked Viera since the game was started. The hype I had when I saw the trailer of races was sooooo damn big and it all was crushed under stupid lore-excuse. No deal, SE, no deal. There is the saying in my family - "If you do something - do it well, because bad things could make them themselves". So, please, SE. If you adding new races (especialy so iconic as Viera) - make it good. No one asked you for half of the race. You could just don't add it in the first place with such policy and stupid lore excuses.

While people didnt ask specifically for hrothgar, people did ask for a beastial like race that wasent just another human with ears. Where i would have loved if we got lupin, im pretty alright with hrothgar. I do hope it gets more head options.... Maybe somthin in the lupin area, same with tails, but for now im ok with it

I think that for the most part, male hrotgar will simply get the exact same faces with the other hairstyles, but, on 6.0, which is when I think bot hmissing genders will come and the new halves of the races we got on 5.0 wil lget updated (think, this is by no means confirmed), we will get male hrotgar werewolf option, with a wolf face

I would like the Lupin instead of Hrothgar, actualy. We already have cats. Wolfs would be great to contrast them.

That sad feeling when SWTOR has more body customisation than FF14. ESO, I don't know. I could change a lot and I rather enjoyed the customisation. And as I said, they have two different play styles. But this playstyle is becoming the casual norm for MMOs. Of course, an opinion is an opinion. I just found that it had more to offer in its CC that FF does. The muscle development, size of the body, the weight, the softness of the face etc. Those that couldn't be edited are options that were tied into the lore.

But hey, at least in ESO while they followed their lore they didn't gender lock folks, neither did SWTOR. Why? Because genderlocks suck. While they have a reason not to as well I suppose. All of the races are sharing four distinct body types, eight if you think about the gender differences. And there's a lot of armour pieces in SWTOR. Heck, must be about like 200+ iconic sets which have 7/8 pieces which are all viewable - yes, even the belt - right now that's in the cartel market alone, and then the bog-standard sets that aren't unlockable from the cartel reclaim. Just thinking about it, that's a lot of armour sets they have to adjust. ESO is in the same boat; perhaps more still because the characters body type is up to the player and not a set template.

I'm curious on the whole idea of, how much work actually is it to have the armours edited to fit? I know it's a lot of work, but is it as much as Yoshida is putting forward? Can someone who's also in the business confirm something regarding this. Would they be creating new assets or simply editing old ones. And how long would it take to do that? I'm of the mind that the biggest hurdle is updating all of the past sets to fit them, and animations. But the statement regarding them wanting to stay to a certain update timetable of content and how this would set them back confuses me. How time-consuming is it that it would perhaps push that update schedule back by adding in 'technically' another race.

Again, it was obvious we were going to get Ronso and Viera because of the release of their original games onto the Switch. It's a smart marketing ploy, they shot themselves in the foot by gender locking them because a) the female Ronso have already been seen and thus they were gender locked just for balance b) Male Viera hasn't been seen and this would have been a huge step in FF history to see a missing link in the iconic race.

honestly, there was just a lot of demand for beast race, even more for the viera race, so imo, they should have just chosen 1 (whichever, I dont mind honestly, and stuck to that)

I think someone once said that Yoshi did not add the male bunnies on here cause he was concerned about the over explosion of the bunny population in the game.

You know... the don't ever put a male and female in the same cage.

I would say that we will see them cause in the 2 side quests in Rak'tika Greatwood, there were mentions of "Could it have been him?!" comments. Don't take this as a confirmation however the fact they stated that as something that happened very recently and not in a lore type of talk... could be Yoshi's way of nudging us...

I believe there's a female viis who says that she wishes to introduce us to a male viis, which makes me be quite sure that its refering to us seeing one at 5.5, ocne we become super friendly with ronka and the first etc, giving us male viera as a teaser (I also think we'll see female hrotgar in a veil)
