Agreed. Also, so many people rush way too early into farm parties, when they have maybe one lucky clear and still don't know how to properly adjust their rotation into the fight in question. First practice with SSS, then do practice groups until you're comfortable with all the phases, then go for clear, and finally, do a few more of those until you are 100% confident with all the mechanics and can maintain decent DPS. Simply having cleared the fight does not mean you're capable of decent performance in the fight yet.

I have never seen people ask for logs for practice or first clear groups. That is how.

I've had countless of groups not requiring that.

Maybe stop trying to get into the top tier groups?
Those groups are for players who have the time and also the experience and fflogs is part of your proof for those.

Just because he's good doesn't mean he's using the logs or is in favor of them. Back in the days of DAoC I was routinely the highest damage person on my server, with a class most people were convinced was gimped, and I hate logs and parsers.

Honestly though.

If you go in blind join a PF that specifically said blind runs (those do exists. Of course it's hard to find these if you're coming to the content a month later).
Or, watch a guide (ideally both a written and visual) and join practice groups.
If you've learned the fight but have had some unlucky groups join kill groups.
If you've cleared the fight and want to optimise your CD's (& DPS), play-style of the encounter better join duty completion optimisation runs.
Join farm groups after you've done several clear runs and have optimised your rotation based on the encounter.

I would advise though to join static groups. There's loads of very decent statics that don't require you to be top tier parsing or whatever but just a decent enough player.
Always be honest and tell people if your new to Savage, they won't come after you for this, they will generally be even more understanding and trying to help (in case for finding a static group).

Before any of the above though you should have a basic understanding of your job and your standard rotation and should have trained on your target dummy and dungeons (and normal mode raids & EX trials).

Another note of advice is to get good at EX trials, those are basically the normal mode just with some mechanics strapped on them and require some coordination and are easier then Savage.
Get info on your job and rotation on The Balance, the people in there have spend a lot of time creating guides and calculation various different skill usages and stat weights, etc. I became a much better player thanks to them and I recommend it to everyone.

And you know even the top pier players sometimes makes mistakes... That can always happen also in farm groups, of course making the same mistakes all the time means you're not ready yet for that farm run and should do more training and/or optimisation.

We don't bite, really. There's bad people everywhere and in all communities. I've personally seen much much more toxicity, drama and bad apples in non savage stuff and social/RP communities.


Edit: just a post for all the doomsayers about parsing and being locked out of Savage content because of it.
Some of you just want to sh*tpost about it and don't want to put in any effort and want the other players to carry you > that's just bad attitude of your own part and says much about who you are as a person.

You can legit just make your own PF group saying your progress and what you want to specify people have seen. Even if you end up clearing and want more experience you can put "Cleared, but still want to practice the fight for optimization. Please have seen enrage." There are people who get into some unlucky groups and know a fight to the T, so putting a message like that is allowing them to join understanding that it's not going to be perfect but the intent is to clear.

When you join a farm party the expectation is that you know this fight completely and will minimize on dps loss and and maximize on dps gain. Failing on those ends makes you look bad and will probably lead into a disband or kick if it's repeated (which most pfs on new content do advertise).
