Absolutely love the new loot system. Hugely appreciated.

Player : フェアリーのミラプリも作ってるんですか?
(Any plan on Fairies glamour?)
Yoshi'p Sampo: フェアリーはエギではないので、予定がないです。残念ながら。
(Since Fairies aren't Egi so, No.)

Just throwing my opinion out there:
Disappointed
I know there will be more to do in savage, but holy cow these fights are braindead. 99% reused mechanics and 50% reused bosses. As for the story, I can't find anything original. Now we're just our own wandering minstrel with new omega pet, but at least this one's not trying to kill us yet.

I like what they did with the battle choices. Eden Prime being first instead of last may feel strange to some people but we've had that other kind of boss hierachy before in Coil, Alex, Omega so it's time to do something different. FF VIII fans get the fan service they want right out of the gate. Remixing ARR primals is also a nice touch now that the original fights are old enough to evoke a touch of nostalgia in veteran players, while new players never got to experience those when they were challenging. People have been easily mowing down Titan overgeared for years but now he's back kinda as the boss of a savage raid tier to put some respect on his name again. And yes the story is super contrived again like Omega was. I guess that's the tradeoff we have to accept; lore gets moulded very conveniently for raids to allow a gauntlet of fan service bosses in pretty rooms.
My only peeve about it is the lack of cutscenes showing Eden and the locations of turn 3 and 4 fights. It literally... happens on a black screen lol. About the story itself, my peeve is how they actually approach Eden, sending you inside of what it seems to be a Sin Eater... I mean, isn't that like slightly reckless?
Also I know they don't voice raid content, but it would be nice to have it, would add more immersion.

Yeah I would appreciate some more in-between scenes. I still had a lot of fun but the transitions from waiting room to set piece were quite fast lol. Even just a morphing of the room just to show how the stage shifted would be neat, floating through aether, whatever.

FFXIV is 6 years old. The majority of the playerbase are not newcomers who started out in ShB, and generally MMOs. So why do we reset back to Kindergarden level every single expansion? We literally go from Seiryu EX, Suzaku EX, 2 ultimates, Alphascape Savage to..... well, back to simplistic autoclear content for several weeks. Why not build on the past? Why hit the reset switch every time for the ENTIRE endgame? New players have plenty of content. New players will not be at this endgame for weeks and months of MSQ, and they will face the trials there, on the way.
The only kind of new player who MIGHT have to learn a LITTLE bit more than right now would be somebody who buys all the jump potions, speedlevels, and then wants to first-day clear the entire raid content of the Normal mode in one day. Is that the player, in the 3rd expansion, with an extremely loyal playerbase, that the game should be designed for?
Why not make 1 or 2 floors easier, and the rest on EX level? Savage is a serious step up, I understand why its not necessarily a good idea to force people into that, but the ARR extremes were good aspirational content for the masses, too!
We learned to deal with pre-nerf Steps of Faith, we learned to deal with pre-Nerf Nidhogg, pre-nerf Shinryu, and I was there each time, undergeared, among the first wave of lunatics trying these blind, and it was glorious.
I think you seriously underestimate the ability of players to adapt. Whining about stuff being too hard is a matter of time. Whining about stuff being too easy is a permanent problem, because people dont get WORSE.
You have been around for a long time you should know why they do not do this, Coil while highly well praised but it did lock core story linking 1.0 to ARR this urked a large portion of the playerbase because they could not see this, SE's solution make normal mode raids so the average playerbase can see the story of the raid and savage to give the challenge, this has been the base model for raids since HW, with both SB and ShB we have had major changes to jobs and they are tuning these fights to the average playerbase skill in accordance with these changes.FFXIV is 6 years old. SE does not want a repeat of Gordias which near destroyed the raid scene for an entire expansion, this is why you have such lenient normal fights because they want the average player to be able to go in randomly and clear this and get the story, if you want harder normal mode fights increase the average player skill and on that endevour i wish you the best of luck XD
P.S the savage will be on the level of Alexander:Creator difficulty so expect them to be cleared in a day or two and i'd look forward to more whining these are too easy >_>
Guy butt is best butt <3

my feedback: it was fun & the new loot system is heavenly
I'm excited to see what my forgetful/braindamaged WoL cooks up for the next returning bosses though I hope the next tier's gear looks better cause maternity dresses ain't doing nothing for my characters, male or female lol. Yeah, the first 3 are really really easy but savage is right around the corner so theres more challenging stuff soon :>
If anything my only complaint is that the first boss/zone was flashy and every following duty was aesthetically kinda drab. I also wish there was some kind of sequence where it showed us going to the boss fights. Our character summons [insert boss here], screen fades to black... aaaaand now its time to fight. Where are we? How did we get there? Why isn't my WoL surprised Titan is a now go-kart ???
I hate the striking gear this raid tier even more than I hated it in Alphascape, so I guess that's a real accomplishment.
The content itself is pretty good.
