They only give a huge advantage if you're using them to improve and you've been doing everything wrong without realizing that. They don't give you a damage boost just for using them.

And where are you getting this idea that PC players want to keep parsers to ourselves? I have no issue with them being available on consoles, and I doubt anyone else does either. Consoles just aren't set up to do that kind of thing, though.

You seem rather offended over this and based on false assumptions.

By the people in thread trying to justify why PC players get to use a parser, and ps4 players don't. And if were not going to get parser take all ps4 players off FFlogs till we acutally get a parser. Then who cares about FFlogs... Every player will ACUTALLY have a fair chance to "get gud" and have GUD FFlogs. Untill then, FFlogs won't be true or even fair to be judged for the ps4 players.

FF logs doesnt 'give you an advantage." It merely records your combat information so you can look through it later and work on improving. Itd be no different than people who record their sessions and rewatch it later to see where they can improve.

People defend it for this purpose. Its an improvement tool. The reason people use it to 'gate' players is that in harder content that requires a lot of coordination and skill, more advanced players do not want to hand hold a player who does not even bother to do proper rotations, cooldown usage, or other things that would make it hard (if not impossible) to clear that content. This isnt an end all be all either. Some people wont care and will take you anyways. But for people where time, effort, and patience is concerned, they want reliable players.

If you dont meet their standards, theyll tell you as much. Most raiders will say it politely (though perhaps a bit bluntly at times). It's not a dig at you. It's not a put down. If you wan to play the game in a casual way and arent concerned with min maxing or more difficult content, thats your choice. Just dont expect players who strive for excellence in the game to bend over backwards for your sake. If you want to join them in their endeavors, then strive to get up to their standards. Because yes, your damage, rotation, and skill usage does matter in current raid content. You will not beat the Savage tiers in a prog group if you dont have a solid understanding of your role and class along with boss mechanics. It's that simple.

As for 'keeping it to ourselves', this sounds like bitterness and resentment. There is nothing stopping you from having a PC buddy help you out and parse for you. And there is nothing stopping you from reading guides or joining discord servers like the Balance to get detailed guides for proper opener rotations and openers. Parsers dont stop you from doing this. You dont need ACT or FFLogs to do good dps or proper CD usage. It doesnt give you a competitive advantage in that sense. If anything is holding you back from being a better player, it would be your attitude and mentality. If you apply for a raid group and they want to see your logs, tell them you run PS4. Theyll just parse you on a training dummy to see what you do. There are so many ways to get better or be a part of the raiding crowd. Yeah, it is harder on you for being on PS4 and that sucks, but it's not stopping you.

Yes I'm completely wrong and you're 100 % right. Us ps4 players aren't worthy to have a parser... But keep up the good work using the FFlogs against ps4 players that don't have access to a parser...

No one is ganging on up on you or anyone else. You, however, are throwing out baseless accusations and wild conspiracies.

I've already said this, but no one is out to keep parsers from PS4 players. PS4 is not designed in such a way that allows for such things to be used. There's no conspiracy to keep it from you or use them against you. It's simply a limitation of platform design. They didn't make the PS4 thinking "We'll make this in such a way that MMO players won't be able to use parsing tools! muahahahaaaa *mustache twirl*" nor did the people making the tool create it thinking "We'll keep this to ourselves and not let PS4 users see their DPS! muahahahaaa *mustache twirl*".

A player's skill has nothing to do with whether you're playing on console or PC. I've raided with console players and them not having parser doesn't stop them from doing massive DPS.

Every heard of guides? Balance discord? No parser can fix a bad player if they have no idea what they're doing. If you think having a parser will change your parse from gray to purple or blue, then I have bad news for you.
