Yoshi P says parsers don't give huge advantage to players.Cherry pick the rules whatever. My biggest issue is, ps4 players are not allowed to use parsers and PC players are, giving them a huge advantage. Then the ps4 player's numbers are put up on FFlogs, not even knowing are numbers are selves, and being judged by them. So it makes it much more difficult to improve said numbers. But that's none of my business I guess...

They won't do it because it will give others a legit reason to harass others and kick them for their numbers. Right now they just kick you silently without saying anything. If the parser was official, imagine the toxicity from some. Maybe a personal parser? But then again, they'll say we have SSS.

Facts are indeed quite controversial in this day and age. Oh well.
I do think it's funny the OP came to bump this thread from the afterlife and then disappeared.
Lol not the first time he's done it. And what's even more funny is that the same issues being discussed now were already discussed pages before and debunked. But, I guess some just can't let go of their feelings over the facts presented.
If they took down FFLogs for any of that it means they could also take down the FFXIV reddit, which would be a far better decision :^)
If the third party effects you in no way, why do you care? Youre saying "I dont care about my information, but I dont want my information to be touched by a thirdparty. But remember I dont have any problem with my information."You're getting it.
I don't care how they do it if they were to. I dont care if you know my parse. I have No insecurities about my gameplay!
I do not want it to be handled by an unofficial third party. Espescially since it's stated as a bannable offense in the ToS! Eeeespescially when it's forcing us into it! It's flawed and leaves room for abuse.
Who knows what the third party is looking at behind the covers.
And you keep resorting to the ToS, failing to understand what people are telling you. It's SE's ToS. They DONT have to enforce it if they dont want to. All youre agreeing too in the ToS is that youre agreeing to their rules. Whether or not they punish you is up to them. Like I said before, think of how cops operate. You can be speeding and get pulled over, but it doesnt mean the cop is going to ticket you. They may give you a warning.
Lastly youre misunderstanding FFLogs and ACT. They dont 'force' anything. At its core, FFLogs is just a public blog where people can post their combat logs. If you get caught up in someone elses combat log doing a public action, then thats that. ACT just takes combat log information and presents it in a more readable format. Nothing more. It isnt 'fishing' for your combat logs. It doesnt track your battle information if youre in Lakeland and Im in Mor Dhona. It doesnt seek out players and twirls it's mustache evilly thinking "Nyah, Gonna suck up all that sweet sweet combat info!"
If youre in a party and you do something, it shows up in the combat log. I can see that, you can see it, everyone in party can see it. FFLogs just posts that information into a web format that can be reviewed. Thats it. This, btw, can be accomplished without ACT. People can literally math this stuff out themselves and post it to a website and it would still be the same thing.
Yes. Because thats how ToS's work. You agree to there terms of service, and they can choose to ignore you or not. There is nothing bindnig in the ToS which says they will punish you 100% of the time if your caught violating it. It's always been like that, and it's like that for most ToS's when you look at them in depth. The ToS gives THEM flexibility. If they want to get rid of you for harassing someone over DPS, they can point to the ToS and say "See, its right here." But they can also just the same ignore people who use it and dont say anything about it.
All it is at the end of the day is an organized layout of your combat logs that you can peruse to see where you did certain actions and then deduce how to improve. Nothing more. If people misuse the tool, thats the individual's problem, not the parsers.
Yet it does... Everyone defends FFlogs to and parsers to the death, and you want to say they don't give an huge advantage, then why make a big deal about must having to use so you don't get stuck with what u all so called bad players? You PC players want to keep that advantage for yourself. You can't have it both ways. But keep making up your own reality. Yoshi P said he was going balance healers out too, how that work out? I know he is like a god to you and never lies...Yoshi P says parsers don't give huge advantage to players.

Wll, well...
What a read...
I'll just say, every time this comes up, I search on fflogs, and I've yet to find my character listed.
They only give a huge advantage if you're using them to improve and you've been doing everything wrong without realizing that. They don't give you a damage boost just for using them.Yet it does... And where are you getting this idea that PC players want to keep parsers to ourselves? I have no issue with them being available on consoles, and I doubt anyone else does either. Consoles just aren't set up to do that kind of thing, though.
You seem rather offended over this and based on false assumptions.
This is an incoherent point.Yet it does... FF logs doesnt 'give you an advantage." It merely records your combat information so you can look through it later and work on improving. Itd be no different than people who record their sessions and rewatch it later to see where they can improve.
People defend it for this purpose. Its an improvement tool. The reason people use it to 'gate' players is that in harder content that requires a lot of coordination and skill, more advanced players do not want to hand hold a player who does not even bother to do proper rotations, cooldown usage, or other things that would make it hard (if not impossible) to clear that content. This isnt an end all be all either. Some people wont care and will take you anyways. But for people where time, effort, and patience is concerned, they want reliable players.
If you dont meet their standards, theyll tell you as much. Most raiders will say it politely (though perhaps a bit bluntly at times). It's not a dig at you. It's not a put down. If you wan to play the game in a casual way and arent concerned with min maxing or more difficult content, thats your choice. Just dont expect players who strive for excellence in the game to bend over backwards for your sake. If you want to join them in their endeavors, then strive to get up to their standards. Because yes, your damage, rotation, and skill usage does matter in current raid content. You will not beat the Savage tiers in a prog group if you dont have a solid understanding of your role and class along with boss mechanics. It's that simple.
As for 'keeping it to ourselves', this sounds like bitterness and resentment. There is nothing stopping you from having a PC buddy help you out and parse for you. And there is nothing stopping you from reading guides or joining discord servers like the Balance to get detailed guides for proper opener rotations and openers. Parsers dont stop you from doing this. You dont need ACT or FFLogs to do good dps or proper CD usage. It doesnt give you a competitive advantage in that sense. If anything is holding you back from being a better player, it would be your attitude and mentality. If you apply for a raid group and they want to see your logs, tell them you run PS4. Theyll just parse you on a training dummy to see what you do. There are so many ways to get better or be a part of the raiding crowd. Yeah, it is harder on you for being on PS4 and that sucks, but it's not stopping you.
